This is used as a vacation house by the family, we live in Athens, therefore you self check in and out from the place. Of course there is always someone in charge nearby in order to help you in case of need!

History of the place

50m from the building is the entrance of the 2WW tunnel to the on-hill antiaircraft light-projector place.The hill was used from Italian Acqui Division to control the entrance of the ships to the Argostoli bay. The old wale of the house( 15m deep) was the weapon deposit of the Italian platoon.

Nature of the place

200 years olive trees ,tall male and female cypresses, pines,almond trees, bushes of thyme , rosemary, daffodils.
Different kind of birds :nightingales, swallows, turtle doves.

Una casa piena di charme, attrezzata, comoda e accogliente situata in un luogo dove gli unici rumori erano il vento nei pini e negli eucaliptus, i grilli e le cicale. Ogni sera un tramonto da favola. Immersa nel verde, a dieci minuti da Argostòli dove si trova tutto quello che serve.

My wife and I stayed in the Earth House for 6 nights in May 2017 and loved our visit. If you enjoy places that are unusual, full of local character, very different from the standard, bland, antiseptic kind of accommodation that is the same worldwide, then this is the place for you. The house is beautiful and quirky, crammed full with fascinating bric-a-brac accumulated by the family over years. There are wonderful views of the surrounding land and sea, through the pine and olive trees, from the hilltop situation of the Earth House. Panagiotis and Kleio are friendly, helpful hosts. Just a couple of things to note: this not a place for people with limited mobility, as there are steep stairs up to the bedroom and bathroom. Also, access to the house is up a steep approach road. If you are very fit, you might manage getting around from here with bicycles. But most people will require a car. In common with many older homes in Greece, toilet paper may not be flushed, but must be put into a small bin in the bathroom.

We received great hospitality upon arrival. We had a wonderful stay in this beatiful cave house! We loved _everything and it was hard to leave. This place was a perfect jumping off point for visiting the island. Thanks for opening your home, Panagiotis!

The cave house is a traditional house up the hill above Argostoli. We were lucky enough to be met by Klio who showed us where it was and how thinks worked there. We were greeted like a member of the family and helped with ideas of places to visit. The house itself is like a writer's retreat, it's cool and dark inside and filled with antiques. It's set amongst lovely big trees outside with lots of shade. You absolutely need a car if you stay here- to get into town, to any of the shops, or restaurants and to the beach. The house is up quite a windy, narrow road to drive. I would also note is that there is no double bed which we hadn't realised before we booked. The bedroom upstairs has two small antique single beds. There is lots of additional single sleeping space in the two rooms downstairs which I imagine would be good if you go with a family but for a couple it's a shame there was no double.

Un rare bijou ! Une perle sur les hauteurs d'Argostoli. On vous le dit clairement, nous y avons passé 4 jours de rêve et d'intense bonheur, accueillis comme des Dieux par Clio, la propriétaire des lieux. Mais nous vous avertissons également, cet endroit mérite le respect de son passé. Il faut savoir traiter cette maison de famille, magnifiquement rénovée et décorée, avec tout l'égard qu'impose l'amour que lui porte les enfants qui y ont grandis et qui nous y accueillent. On n'y vient pas comme on se rendrait dans un hôtel, en pensant que tout est dû pour le prix qu'on y paie. Non. Le lieu vit encore. Il faut l'appréhender, savoir s'y tenir, et l'expérience y sera d'autant plus belle. Je n'en dirai pas plus, si ce n'est que nous y avons passé notre plus belle expérience Airbnb à ce jour.
