The pictures of this home's exterior condition were clearly misrepresented. The host notified us one day before check in, that we shouldn't be "alarmed" with the homes exterior condition. She stated the home was unable to be painted due to rain. When we arrived we were shocked and dismayed, as the home needed far more work than a simple new coat of paint. It appeared to us to be a stalled project. Possible hurricane damage in partial repair, siding being replaced, 1/2 painted walls, rotten wood etc. If the house simply needed a new coat of paint, no worries, this was certainly not the case. We would of never rented this home if accurate, non dated pictures had been posted. We took many pictures of the exterior, forwarded them to AirBnb. Long story short, if not for the fact that we had out of town guests, we would of taken the 100% refund AirBnb offered and left. We insisted on a 50% discount, nothing less. AirBnb viewed this as a clear misclassification of listing and issued the 50% credit. Through this time, the host shockingly never acknowledged our concern, instead made excuses and tried to deflect our attention elsewhere. In addition to the very poor presentation of the home's exterior condition , we found attention to detail and cleanliness severely lacking. The upstairs was unbearably hot during the day (82 degrees), simple window treatments and doors being sealed proper would have greatly helped. The house was marketed as a "pristine" property and for $720 a night our expectations were pretty high and our expectations were clearly not met. On a positive note and what made the stay bearable was the beach, it is quite beautiful and relaxing. Other than the beach, the house itself doesn't contain any amenities that you might expect, i.e. a pool table, ping pong, foos-ball etc So if you ever decide to rent this place make sure of 2 things, you get accurate pictures and that you love the beach. Good Luck!
