I love colour and am also an artist. Each room is unique in this old house, part of it is 17th century and part of it's not!!!, I have a large garden that you are free to use. The house is tucked down behind the church so is secluded
and private.

I have been living here for 36 years and love it. The house had seen many changes over the years. Part of it is 18th century, part victorian, part 20th century. It's a wonderful mongrel I also rent out a Summerhouse in the garden to a delightful young lass Sarah. I have a large garden which you are very welcome to use.

You will have access to most of the house. There is only one TV in the sitting room which of course you can use. I do have WIFi . The main bedroom is a double, with a bathroom next door and a single bedroom the other side of the bathroom. Ideal for friends or a family sharing their living space.

I can be as helpful as you like. I do know the area well and can recommend pubs, bistros and places to eat. You have a huge choice of activities with the sea side within 20 minutes, birdwatching, music, Snape Maltitngs, culture, castles, walking and relaxing. If you are the independent type who likes to be left to find your own way that's equally fine, I shall just carry on painting or gardening!

Suffolk has a huge variety of things to offer, not just the heathland and seaside, but stunning churches, artists and studios, Benjamin Britten Festival in June and Snape Maltings and the Proms in August the list goes on ....................... I live 15 minutes from Snape

Suffolk is not good on public transport but great for biking. You can hire them locally. I would suggest for getting around to the further reaches of Suffolk a car is really necessary

The areas in the house that will be out of bounds to guests will be the attic at the top of the house which is my studio and the room above the kitchen which is my bedroom. The bottom bathroom is my bathroom but feel free to use the loo during the day.
I do not do cooked breakfast but am more than happy to provide a continental breakfast with an ample supply of fruit, yogurt, toast and croissant.
I start at 2 nights booking and upwards. I do not do one night stands!
I do have a shed to store bikes
Secluded eating out area if the weather is good

Sally's house is eclectic and charmingly eccentric in very much the right ways. A calming peaceful place, full of colour and art. The guest room is just as you see in the pictures, beautiful old floorboards and beams. Sally is a warm welcoming person, and thoughtful and thorough as a host. We used this delightful place as a base for Folk East down the road, but it could be just as handy for Aldeburgh or Latitude.

Sally was a fabulous host and made us feel very at home and welcome. She kindly provided a cold but delicious breakfast spread each day (included in the price) and made sure we knew our way around, how to use the lights etc. She even put a small fridge in the bedroom for us to use, along with lots of nice tea, coffee, milk and water. The house and it's gardens are beautiful, very characterful and quirky - this is not a modern home, but it is very comfortable and homely. I would suggest only staying there if you have a car, as it is a tiny remote village with no transport. We stayed for 3 nights over the Latitude Festival weekend and it worked well for us - it is a 20/25 mins drive to the festival site, so you cannot walk, but if you book a taxi to take you and collect you each day then this is fine. Sally is a kind warm host and couldn't do enough for us. We hope to go back and stay with her again next summer - maybe for a weekend break in the lovely area even if we don't go to Latitude!
