Descripción

Our home is full of antiques, instruments, books, art, and love. We are located in the Lehigh Valley just 2 hours from NYC, 1 hour from Philly, and nestled against hundreds of acres of nature preserve; trails, covered bridges, and a quaint zoo!

We have a quiet space with access to a claw-foot tub bathroom and big deep window sills with private wooded views. The bed is a large queen with new memory foam mattress. There is a small table with a lamp for office/laptop use, and wifi runs throughout the house.

Guests can walk the 3 acres of property, sit on our porches, hang in the kitchen and family room (which we call our music room) and feel at ease in their own room when wishing for privacy.

On weekdays, I will be available to provide coffee and breakfast, and on weekends we may or may not be traveling; with keys and snacks at the ready.

Our neighborhood consists of a variety of private homes; stone houses, modern split-levels, old farmhouses (like ours), and even log cabins. Neighbors are extremely helpful, kind, active, and private... that said, it's quiet around here, but you'll see cyclists, hikers and joggers, and even the occasional fellow on horseback. We are connected to hundreds of acres of trails; for hiking, swimming in the stream, picnicing, and in-season, for hunting.

We are within ten minutes of highways; I-78, I-476 (PA Turnpike), I-80, Rt.309 and Rt.22. It's very easy to hop onto any of these and basically head in any direction with ease for travel. There is minimal public transit, however, unless you have means to get to and from Allentown, which is about 15-20 minutes away and offers busing regionally and overland.

We have two younger children, a labradoodle (loves other animals and people; hypoallergenic), and a friendly cat (who roams indoors and out). If we are out of town, the dog and children will be with us, and the cat will be around.

Normas de la casa

We expect guests to treat our family of children and pets with kindness and respect. We prefer folks to remove shoes inside of the house; or have "house" shoes to wear as our floors are very unique and old, and we are sensitive to allergies. Our neighbors are very nice people but prefer their quiet at night and their privacy. Ultimately, though, we expect guests to feel at ease to relax and enjoy our home. We will be as involved as you wish; sharing conversations, meals, or total privacy, if that is your wish. There isn't a curfew, and we're flexible about your own itenerary. Feel welcome to use our kitchen and fridge, common spaces to enjoy your company in conversation, play, or just quiet. Naturally, we aren't a venue for parties. Smoking is permitted on the two porches and not indoors.

Andy was an absolute delight to meet, and her home is absolutely beautiful. She was responsive to our messages, and we felt instantly at home upon arrival. We fell in love with their dog, Fern, and felt well rested after spending the evening in their home. While our stay was brief, we look forward to the day that our travels may bring us back to Andy’s home!

Andy was out of town, but her communication was welcoming and pleasant. Her husband Jack was as kind and available as anyone might hope for. The home is beautiful and the bed VERY COMFORTABLE!!! We will request to stay here again on our next trip to the area. Thank you Andy and Jack.

Andy and Jack are amazing hosts!! We love their dog Fern who is the sweetest pup! Popsicle was very sweet too! They were super warm, friendly and very considerate- not to mention Andy's chocolate chip scones and waffles are AMAZING!! Will definitely stay with them again if we are in town in the future!

Before we arrived, Andy was in communication with us to make sure we found the house okay and gave us breakfast options. Due to our busy schedules, we did not have the opportunity to meet Andy until the following morning, however, she made sure we were settled and had a list of recommended bars, restaurants, and entertainment that we took full advantage of. The next morning, we hiked a small portion of the Appalachian trail which was a short drive from their house. The farmhouse was a beautiful piece of history that we were able to enjoy and the area was very remote and peaceful. Highly recommended.

A great little space in a wonderful neighborhood! Hosts are excellent and easy to talk to and be around, and the house is well-situated to offer both secluded rural quietude and easy access to a number of attractions.

This farmhouse was built in the 1850's and it has the right amount of old and new. It is a very nicely maintained house. The hosts Andy and her husband, Jack were friendly, accommodating and informative. Going from the city where I live to this eight-minutes-out-of-town rural farmhouse was a pleasant pleasant surprise. For anyone looking at this place to stay you will not be disappointed!

Andy's place is just like she describes it on the site. Very quiet and lovely. We weren't there for long because it was a short business-related trip but wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the area.
