Stunning marsh and sea views. Run by International artist Frances Kearney (RCA) who returned from East End London to her native home. Contemporary, traditional. Extremly relaxed. Former art gallery of Patrick Kearney. No pink frills or silly rules.
NB - This listing is for a shared Bed and Breakfast rather than a self contained entire home, please read the rest of the description in full to understand more.
A unique and fascinating coastal Bed and Breakfast over looking the sea in Cley next the Sea. The Studio is without pink frills or silly rules. Non precious and child friendly with a home from home feel. 'The Studio' is a wonderful base to discover North Norfolk, run by me, Frances Kearney - a young International artist (RCA) who returned to Norfolk from the East End. The house is directly opposite Cley beach where we all swim in the summer and two minutes walk into the village.
The Studio is a relaxed and aesthetic environment ( contemporary /traditional ) hosting modern art, design and the series of beautiful historical marine paintings that Patrick Kearney painted, all 26 Brigg sailing ships that used to frequent this important former port in the 1800's.
This is a classic B&B - (multiple parties) 3 private bedrooms, guests share two bathrooms and eat breakfast communally around an old french farm table, looking onto incredible marsh views. I also live in the house and will be in and out - always on hand to answer questions. 'The Studio' has many distractions for a rainy day: board games, toys, books and a wonderful ongoing fossil & round stone collection.
The rooms have stunning panoramic views overlooking Cley marshes towards Blakeney Point. All bedding is feather and the linen is Egyptian cotton. Breakfast consists of local smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or kippers, lavatzza coffee, yogurt, fruit & toast. There is full wireless throughout. The guests sitting room has a roaring open fire in the winter and a piano. To the south there is a pretty walled garden with an open fire grate and to the north at the front of the house one can sit and watch the evening sunset over the marshes before a wander down to The George Pub two minutes away.
The Studio is an ideal location for a restful weekend away or a mini break for walkers, families, couples, bird watchers, writers, artists, children or those seeking a sailing holiday and seal trips to Blakeney Point. Non smoking. Off street parking.

Two bedroom's upstairs with stunning views over the marshes out to sea and overlooking Blakeney Point. While lying on your bed you can look out directly across the marsh and watch geese, barn owls swoop by.. ( Picture illustrates the views from the the double bedrooms). Another sweet, quiet twin room at the back of the house next door for children or two sharing. Use of two bathrooms, one with a roll top bath and one with a shower - guests own sitting room - big fire & sofa's at one end, dining table for 8 at other with view of marshes. Board games, books, piano, World Cinema collection, TV. Lots of interesting art from both myself and my father Patrick Kearney who painted incredible nautical gouache pictures of all the old Brigg ships that used to frequent Cley when it was a former important port. Sunny south facing walled garden and benches at front of house to sit and watch the sunset over the marshes.
Atención a los huéspedes
Sometimes a fair bit and at times much less - I have my own sitting room but our paths cross.
Otros aspectos destacables
There is room for one car directly in front of the house - please drive right up to the boat and the tree to park as it is nice for everyone to maintain the view from the sitting room over the marshes for when you eat breakfast rather than look out onto a car.
If when you arrive there is already one car outside the house, please could you park beyond the tree in the Salthouse direction. This is only two seconds from the front door. Cars may also park opposite on the beach road.
To be happy, considerate and respectful to one another
