The "Island Home" is a one bedroom second floor apartment with a view of Vineyard Haven harbor in the historic Thomas Chase House (built in 1717), the oldest house in downtown Vineyard Haven. Located directly across from the Ferry.
The house was a B&B for whaling ships in the 1700s. This is the first time this house is being rented as a "B&B" style rental in over 200 years. So much charm and history in this house! The PRIVATE apartment has a full kitchen, bathtub with a shower, couch and table in a living area, a queen size bed, a NICE twin air mattress that we tastefully set up for you prior to arrival (if you need it), an air conditioner and a private parking spot in our private parking lot that is STEPS from your door. The location is unbeatable as you are steps from the downtown shops, restaurants, the public bus system and the ferry boat. The beach along the harbor is right across the street and is perfect place to sunbathe, watch the boats come in, cool off, look for sea glass, or do some fishing off one of the 3 boat docks. Be sure to take an evening stroll along this beach! A great view of the Vineyard Haven harbor from your living room! The house has four separate living quarters and all have private entrances. This apartment shares an entrance way that leads to the private entrance to the apartment (The front door of the house enters into a shared hallway and you take the stairs to your separate entrance. The hallway is just like what a B&B or an apartment building would have. You will be more than satisfied with the privacy of the entrance and the room). Lots of flower gardens to relax with on the grounds as well. Certainly an unforgettable experience.
There is only one queen bed in the apartment and a NICE twin mattress that we set up for you prior to arrival. It is set up in the corner and will out of your way as to not take away from the living room feel. The couch is not for sleeping on.

Hi! I am an enthusiastic, creative, fun loving mother of 2 awesome children (ages 9 and 11), and a wife of the man of my dreams. We own and operate an Organic Juice and Smoothie bar, Blissed Out, in downtown Vineyard Haven on the island of Martha's Vineyard. The business is now in it's 7th season. We own a historic house, the Thomas Chase House, which was built in 1717. With my background in construction, I have fully restored this old house with my own two hands. I have given this house the love and respect that it deserves. I began restoring the house with my dad in 1999 and right away began running the house as a private B&B for family and friends. Everyone always told me that I would someday run the best B&B on the island. Well, after 11 years of raising kids and running a business I now have the time and dedication to make my house a public "B&B" (airbnb). As of May 1, 2016 I am now renting out 3 different B&B style apartments/rooms on Airbnb!. I have paid close attention to detail and have created some amazing spaces for happy travelers from all over the world to come and share it with us.
My family and I love to travel together. We are huge lovers of hiking! We recently have taken our kids on an epic cross country rv trip. We enjoy towing our RV trailer around and exploring national parks, cities, little towns and secret hiking trails. My children are so sweet and well traveled as you will see if you meet them. They are helpful and considerate of guests. You will be sure to love them.
Thanks for reading and hopefully we will get to meet you in person!
