Descripción

Beautiful traditional old Icelandic home on 3 floors in the center of downtown Reykjavik.
The location is as central as it gets, a couple minutes walking distance from the main shopping street with all Reykjavík has to offer. 4 bedrooms fit 8 people

The space consists of three floors plus a basement containing the washing room.
The first floor has a small bathroom and a large master bedroom.
The second floor contains the kitchen, small balcony, living room and dining room.
The third floor contains three bedrooms: One has a sofa (big enough for one person to sleep on), tv and two single beds. The next bedroom has an office work space and a single bed. The last one has 2 single beds and an office work space.

The guests will have access to all 3 floors and basement. (and mini balcony :)) There is a small backyard also that you will have access to.

I am at hand 24/7 if there are any questions or in need of assistance.

This is central Reykjavík! Everything you need is around the corner. Attractions and city life all around.

You do not need a car to experience the city from this location but of course a car is better if you are going to travel further from Reykjavík. Bus stops are a couple meters away

The place ist perfect if you are traveling with 4 or more people. The Street is close to the Hallgrimskirkja. The neighboorhood is very silent. We enjoyed our stay. Johannes responded very quick when some Lightbulbs went out of service. Also he brought a new Waterboiler and a new Coffee-Maker. Thanks for that :-)

Visiting Iceland is very expensive so when a group of 7 of us was visiting, I was concerned about finding affordable housing. Luckily we found this bnb. It was a great value, in a central location, and large enough to accommodate everyone. The BNB is only a few blocks from the central cute shops and cafe. It felt like everything was 10-15 min walk from the BNB which was great including many Reykjavik hotspots. We did the blue lagoon tour which offered only hotel pick up and drop off. We were concerned of logistics in how to get picked up but there was a hotel (Holt) around the corner which we walked over. Just a nice tip if you're planning a tour and there are limitations on pick up. The neighborhood is quiet, filled with cute row houses, and easy to find. We didn't rent a car but parking seemed ample. The BNB is as described, traditional, shabby chic. It's traditional and rustic. The large space is comfortable and has everything you need. I typically don't cook while traveling, but with food being so expensive in Iceland, we cooked several times and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a good meal or like us, breakfast and sandwiches for our trip. There is only one shower so for a large group, there can be a wait. The towels weren't the plushiest but were clean and plentiful. Overall, the value, space, amenities, location is highly recommended. If you like rustic places, this is a great option. Our host, Johannes, was easy to communicate. You can expect a response from him in several mins. Prior to our arrival, he warned us that there was no toilet paper and was out getting some. When we arrived, toilet paper was at the space. Although the space doesn't have a bnb information binder, he relayed the wifi, check out info, etc quickly. Johannes also gave us a great private tour. With only 6 hours left before our departing flight, he took us around the Golden Circle for some amazing sites and photos (even stopped by to see some horses on the roadside). I highly recommend taking his tour if he offers it as you have the freedom and flexibility to customize your own tour. Overall a great host, would definitely stay here if I visit Iceland again.

Johannes's place is exactly what the name of it says. It is a traditional residence within walking distance to restaurants, bars, tourist attractions and a Bonus supermarket. Love the vinyl record player and collection. It is a very quaint and comfortable place to stay at. Good for big groups. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you Johannes!

This house is a perfect base for exploring the city and beyond and is a comfortable place to spend the time in between. It's spread over three floors (not including the basement which houses a washing machine) which adds a roomy feel to the place. It's very central with lots of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops nearby while at the same time it sits in a very quiet and welcoming street. Jóhannes, the host, is very friendly, approachable, and helpful and made our stay extra special by arranging our airport transfers and by being a wonderful tour guide. Not only did we see the Northern Lights with him, but he went out of his way to make sure we experienced the Golden Circle tour on the day that Reykjavik awoke to 51cms of snow - no easy feat! A great house and a great host.

Perfect location. In a quiet street but only 5 mintues to the city center. Also with a car very convenient to get to the "highway". Johann is a top host with lots of good advices for sight seeing and a awesome Iceland experience.
