Find our other listing of "*Absolutely Historic Haven in NW DC" Studio Apartment for more details on this lovely property. The house is a big stone Tudor house with all the charm of history but with the necessary updates to make us comfortable. Alas, children leaving for college have left us with some extra space. A nice room with a private full bath/shower, a bay window with a view of the private side yard, grill, hot tub and fire pit area. Full closet and storage space (a nice empty trunk), desk and an antique full Jenny Lind bed with temperapedic mattresses (sleeps 2). New additions: mini fridge, microwave, keurig machine with 24 beverage selections! You also get access to the backyard and family kitchen. The backyard includes a fire pit, huge picnic table, reclining lawn chairs and a ready-to-cook gas grill. This house is in the best neighborhood in Washington, DC. Quiet, peaceful, pastoral and yet SOOO close to everything. Metro, Buses, Shopping, Dining!

Use of the full kitchen, private backyard, hot tub, fire pit and gas grill. Room upgrades now include your own Keurig coffee maker with lots of beverage choices (tea, coffee, cider, chocolate! YUM), a microwave and small refrigerator. All right in your room!

We will be here to greet the guests but pretty much go with the "mi casa es su casa" after that point. We also work just across the street so we are always available.

What do we love about our neighborhood? Everything! Transportation, shopping, eating, community, entertainment . . .

Easy access to all public transportation. We sold our car after living here for a while because it just sat!

David and Maureen's home is very nice and the location is excellent. Accommodations were fairly basic but met my needs. I was happy to have a mini fridge and a Keurig. It would have been helpful to have a small dresser to keep my clothing that I couldn't hang up. I was there for 4 nights and didn't really like living out of my suitcase.

Very comfortable room with a private bathroom in a great neighborhood. Maureen and her family went out of their way with accommodations to several small requests (using kitchenware, etc). The coffeemaker, mini fridge, and microwave saved me from always having to go out for breakfast, snacks, etc (even though there's plenty to offer within a short walk). I stayed over a week to take care of some personal business and was very comfortable at Maureen's place. Cozy room with windows looking out on greenery. Highly recommended.

Maureen and Dave have a wonderful place to stay. The house has an amazing history. It is quiet with big rooms. Very, very nice. Also close to the metro or buses so easy to get to downtown D.C. If that's where you're headed. Will definitely stay here again when in DC area.

Wow. Maureen's place was superb. Super comfy, homey, and very private! It's in a great location, and is very safe, and walkable to nearby food and grocery stores. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Family from Washington, DC with a daughter who is currently volunteering at an orphanage and school in Kenya. Another son, a writer and animator, who is studying at UDC and works at Regal Cinema in Chinatown. And yet another son who is attending Duke Ellington School of the Arts here in DC. Maureen (the mom) is a musician, singer/songwriter and pastor along with David, also a pastor. They are actively involved in the city and have several activities that involve feeding the needy families and homeless in the DC area. The house holds many artifacts and items of interest from their visits to Ghana, Kenya, Moscow and other fun places. Maureen collects cheap snowglobes. Not the expensive, nice ones. . .the cheap gas station ones. Her favorite? A snowglobe from Air Force One. House contains two vegetarians and three omnivores (5 omni's including Jane and FuFu, the dogs). Surprisingly, the family finds that DC is a great place to raise aware, inquisitive, artistic, independent kids. So what if none of them know how to drive a car? And, FYI, when we travel, we now use AirBNB. Not a commercial, just the truth.
