Descripción

Industrial Chic loft overlooking downtown Detroit, the Detroit river and Windsor, Canada. Located on the riverfront west, 1 mile from Joe Louis Arena, Cobo Hall and downtown Detroit. Short distance from Ford Field and Comerica Park. Free parking, equipped kitchen, fast WiFi. Queen bed and twin bed in private loft, overlooking the city, accessible by ladder. Be aware, 4th floor location requires climbing stairs. Incredible natural light, exposed brick, and great view!

Enormous amounts of natural light from floor to ceiling windows looking out over downtown Detroit make this space beautiful and unique. The bedroom is a private loft space accessible by ladder with a queen bed tucked away against exposed brick and surrounded by curtains. The twin bed is also located in this loft. Fully furnished kitchen with spices and oils as well as coffee, tea, bottled water and baking basics. Loft is climate controlled with fans and window air conditioner in the summer and powerful gas heating unit in the winter. Morning sunrise is visible from east facing floor to ceiling windows. Appliances are clean and modern including refrigerator, water kettle, microwave, stove, and oven. Please note: the space is a fourth floor walkup (the 100 year old building contains only a service elevator available by appointment), making it inconvenient for those with mobility concerns.

Also, the side walls are on the thin side and it is likely you will hear noises from our neighbors from time to time. They are not loud, but because of the construction of the building conversation or movements from side places can be audible.

Street parking is safe, free, and plentiful outside of the building on Fort St.

Travelers will have exclusive access to entire loft space.

I will be available to offer assistance throughout your stay.

Corktown - MexicanTown - Riverwalk West - Downtown - Joe Louis Arena - Cobo Center

Our urban loft, affectionately termed "The Bro Loft or Broft" because we are brothers living in a loft, is close to some of the most innovative and delicious restaurants and eateries in the city. We are less than a mile from Michigan Avenue which boasts hip breakfast diners (Brooklyn Street Local) to specialty bars (Sugar House, Motor City Wine and Two James Spirits) to great dinner venues to fill up while watching the game (Slows, Nemo's, McShane's).

One of the most interesting parts of being a part of Detroit's comeback is observing the unique and imaginative ventures that have developed. You can find many of these in our neighborhood, from record shops to retail stores directed at urban hipsters. If you are looking for a hipster bar, UFO Factory or St. Cece's Pub are great spots to go drink or just be. Another special feature of our loft is also its close proximity to unique coffee shops like Anthology Coffee and Astro Coffee, although if you are looking for a hip place to work with internet for several hours, Great Lakes Coffee (about 2.5 miles away) has more space to accommodate you (this is my go-to spot for prolonged coffee and work outings).

Uber - 2 bikes - People Mover - Smart Bus

The midtown, downtown, and Corktown (where we are) areas are all within a fairly close proximity to each other. An uber ride from our place to the Wayne State area will likely cost around $7, but it is also a decent 15 minute bike ride if you're looking to save money. Our loft is right on the riverfront, and if you decide to bike to the river starting at Joe Louis Arena, you can bike, walk, or run up to the Renaissance Center and all the way to Belle Isle-- although you may have to cycle around some buildings if you are looking to get to Belle Isle by bike.

In the opposite direction is the Mexicantown area, which you can access easily by bike or car. Along with authentic Mexican restaurants, there is a bakery, novelty shops, and a park.

If you choose to go to Canada, there is the tunnel near the Ren Cen and also the Ambassador Bridge. The tunnel is typically faster and costs around $5.00 to cross the border.

If you get lost looking for your destination, don't be afraid to ask someone you see. We Detroiters like to think of ourselves as tough, but friendly, too! But if you have safety concerns please contact us and we will give you tips and suggestions.

Two bikes are available for use one mountain bike and one cruiser bike.

The Ambassador Bridge at sunset is beautiful and right outside our place.

The walls of our complex are on the thin side, and you can sometimes hear footsteps or chatter from the adjacent units. It is usually only occasional noise, but earplugs are a good remedy if you have sensitive hearing.

Coin operated Washer Dryer available on the same floor. Detergent provided in the loft.

Great little spot, everything as advertised. Outside building and common areas need some sprucing up but overall this was a cool spot with a great host.

The place has a great view. Long haul to get to the loft, however not unmanageable (don't wear heels going up). The beds are right next to each other and not much privacy. However, we used the air mattress and set it up on the first floor. No tv, which wasn't too much of an issue for us. Be careful of the shower rod, not connected and best believe my ass fell out of it. My leg and ego are quite bruised. Lol overall great stay, safe neighborhood and awesome, awesome view.
