The Pink Loft was a dream, couldn't fault it. It's prime location in the charming town of Governors Harbour offers the best spot for sunset and watching the world go by from the balcony. The house is stocked with all you need, all the mod cons and a luxury feel. The great air con and fans are just what you need after a day at one of the many local beautiful beaches. Locals are wonderfully friendly and the small town is charming with all the shops and amenities you need, but an authentic local feel. Great communication before and throughout the stay from our host. We're sad to leave but so pleased to have found this amazing place to stay! For local recommendations: Beaches - Twin Coves (snorkelling), Ten Bay Beach (paddle boarding), Lighthouse Beach (amazing but need a 4x4 to get here!), French Leave (v local) Fishing trip - Paul Petty (ask @ the buccaneers bar 2 mins from The Loft)

The Pink Loft looks exactly as it is pictured. The lofted ceiling is gorgeous. There is nobody staying in the first level of the house either, so you have complete privacy. It is clean and has all the modern conveniences including a dishwasher and washer/dryer. We used the well equipped kitchen daily, as it was much cheaper to go to the grocery store and cook your own meals. The bathroom is modern and includes a rain shower head as well as a hand held shower head. Thomas was in contact to check on our needs and we ran into the caretaker a couple of times throughout our stay, as he regularly removed the trash. Check in and check out went very smooth and we had no problems entering the property. The loft is situated on a busy corner; however, the traffic noise is blocked well by the high quality windows and noise of the air conditioner (which works very well) and the two ceiling fans. There is a gentleman, JJ, who sells fresh conch salad directly in front of the house almost every day from 10:00am-6:00pm; we recommend trying his conch (he adds a pepper for spice if you wish). The loft's deck offered a fantastic view of the harbour, especially at sunset. We often sat on the deck and had coffee or wine in the morning/evening. There are two grocery stores within walking distance. There is also a very nice wine store, Bristol, that is just around the bay (by where the cargo ships bring in supplies). I also recommend going to Bacchus Fine Foods and Bank's Road Deli, both on Banks Road. They have a good selection of meats, cheeses, and breads to make yourself a charcuterie board. Also, the Friday night fish fry is an easy walk down the street. It is the most activity (aside from Tippy's) that we saw on the island. It is an easy walk to the Buccaneer restaurant. It is just up the hill, directly across from where the Pink Loft parking is located. They have a nice outdoor deck and the owner, Katherine, is very friendly. Their chicken wings, cracked conch, and fried rice were good. Tippy's is also down the road and has a fun atmosphere with great live music. The Pink Loft is centrally located and it is easy to explore beaches to the north or south from here. Our favorites were Alabaster (by Cocodimama), Twin Coves (we saw sting rays and nurse sharks), Rainbow Bay (easy to find), and Lighthouse beach is a must. It is also worth checking out The Cliffs (to the north). Print out directions to all of the beaches, as most of them are not easy to find. Make sure to rent a 4 wheel drive SUV also! The back roads have potholes the size of an adult man. We would love to return and spend more time exploring!

We give the Pink Loft 5 stars because the value of what you get for the price you pay is quite amazing. Particularly on an island which most times can feel “rustic”, and sometimes less charming than that. Upon arrival, we were happy to find that the space was well maintained and obvious care is taken to ensure a clean presentation. The Pink Loft is a recent remodel that was well done, with marble countertops, travertine tile in the spacious shower and nice small touches throughout. From our research, it seemed that you’d need to pay much more to stay in a place as modern as this on the island. There was ample space for two people and the vaulted ceiling added a sense of spaciousness in a relatively small area. It even has a decent sized closet next to the bed which we weren’t expecting and according to our kayaking guide, cable television is a luxury on the island. There is also a very nice assortment of plates, cups, pots & pans in the kitchen which we used several times during our stay.   The librarian down the street affectionately called it the  “Pink Perch“ and remarked that it must be great to be in the middle of the action right in town. It is indeed at the main intersection in Governor’s Harbor settlement. The harbor is unmistakably gorgeous, beautiful turquoise/blue water as far as you can see, typical of Eleuthera, but as a reminder that you are in the middle of the settlement, during the day there are lots of horns honking, dogs barking and roosters crowing. Still it is surprisingly quiet at night. The good thing about this location is that two of the best grocery markets on the island are within walking distance (three if you can walk a mile uphill). This was important since we intended to make use of the kitchen. Speaking of that…another good thing about being “in the middle of the action” – every afternoon (except Sunday) a couple different groups of guys sell fish and spiny lobster literally right in front of the loft, which they had caught that morning – awesome! This makes the beach in front of the loft excellent for buying fresh seafood, but not a great place to play in the water (they tend to leave some of their discarded bits right there to be taken out with the tide…the tide didn’t get that memo). Speaking of playing in the water – the beaches for playing are nearby…the best one on the island, French Leave beach was just the other side (Ocean-Side) and was nearly deserted. We commented that any beach this large and beautiful in Hawaii would be an absolute mob scene of people…not here. Here you will most likely have the beach to yourself for hours.   If you don’t want to cook, several good places to eat are nearby. The mile walk uphill to Bacchus Fine Foods is worth it…we liked it so much we drove on days we didn’t feel like walking. It is like a small Euro café/market/deli with an excellent menu and some gluten-free/vegan/dairy-free options. Other nearby notables were...

It is really nice, well equiped, modern and very centrally located property! If you want to explore all beautiful beaches it is necessary to have a rented car, although a lot of what you need for everyday (shops, cafe, restaurants) are located in few steps. We have stayed here for 4 nights, but would like to return for longer stay!

Stay in this place! This place absolutely made our trip to Eleuthera. The loft is clean, spacious, gorgeous and has all the amenities of a private beach house - balcony overlooking the Harbor (the sun sets right through the window!), kitchen fully stocked with dish ware and cookware (a must in Eleuthera as eating out can be expensive), a very comfortable bed, clean/spacious bathroom (fully stocked with towels) and its own laundry. There is even a TV and we loved watching late-night movies with the balcony open on warm island nights. It is nearby a gorgeous beach (the French Leave - 15 min walk), a good restaurant (Buccaneer club - 30 second walk), a cool coffeeshop (Da Perk), and had its own parking. I would definitely recommend having a car and seeing the many gorgeous beaches of Eleuthera (Gov Harbour has a central location with easy access to anywhere on the island). Thomas was a perfect host - check in/check out was easy, and he was very prompt in answering all of our questions, even providing us with an excellent referral for a car rental in the area. Trust me - after passing through several resorts on Eleuthera - this place has them all beaten hands down for style, comfort, convenience, and value.

Pink Cottage is exactly like in the pictures, brand new apartment with beautiful views, well equipped kitchen, centrally located in Governor's Harbour, the apartment is super clean. You even have a view of the ocean from the beautiful bathroom window. Perfect for a couple. Governor's Harbour is very friendly, there are a few restaurants and supermarkets walking distance to the Pink Cottage, a great coffee shop right next door. We did walk to the beach every day, but some people might want to rent a car, all especially to go to Tippy's which is just a couple of miles away and worth the trip. Thomas & Shelly were always available if we had questions.
