I've blown up my original pen and ink drawing of Buffalo's City Hall and wheat pasted it full scale on the living room wall. The entire space is inspired by the City of Buffalo. This couch folds down to become an extra sleeping surface.

Descripción

The Pop Inn is a perfect place to introduce you to my favorite neighborhood in my hometown! With 53 positive reviews I am positive you will fall in love with the West Side! Located on Buffalo's West Side above Sweetness 7 Cafe + The Pop In - A Community Event Space I created with my partner, you will fall in love with Buffalo's most culturally diverse area!

Welcome to The Pop Inn! This apartment is completely inspired by the City of Buffalo. Located directly above Sweetness_7 Cafe (the best cafe in the city) and The Pop In - a community art/event space I created with my partner - it'll be hard not to fall in love with Buffalo when you anchor yourself here during your stay! This creative one bedroom apartment boasts 9' ceilings, original hardwood floors, and has everything you need for your stay in The Queen City. After successfully creating and operating an Airbnb in Brooklyn (I have over 100 positive reviews) I wanted to create a welcoming space in Buffalo that is a true reflection of my passion for the city I call home. The space is made up of my pen + ink illustrations and artwork inspired by Buffalo's great architecture. The furniture is a blend of new pieces along with Mid- Century and retro decor. I painted the entire apartment a beautiful pale blue color which is inspired by a motel I stayed at in Marfa, Texas. You will also find a few large closets for your belongings.

I am a Superhost and always strive to have a clean, affordable, and creative place for your stay. Let me know if you have any questions!

Guests will have access to the entire 1 bedroom apartment.

I am available at anytime via phone or text or through the Airbnb messenger. If I'm traveling I will always have someone available in case of an emergency.

The West Side is considered the most diverse area code in all of New York State. This is reflected in the diverse businesses which call Grant Street home. If you've spent time in larger cities the West Side has the diverse feel I find in other cities. This is why I've decided to invest my businesses here. Grant Street isn't perfect by any means, but for those of us who call it home, and spend a lot of time here, we find it endearing and quirky. Within one block of The Pop Inn you will find Guercio's (an old Italian Grocery that has been around since my mom was a kid), Global Villages (a unique gift shop with items from all over the world), Sunday (an awesome skateboard shop), West Side Stories (A great used book store) and Sweetness_7 Cafe (an organic cafe w/locally roasted coffee and great atmosphere). You will probably drink/eat here a lot through your stay! Grant Street has evolved quite a bit and new bars and food markets further up the street show just how colorful this area is. Be sure to check out Gypsy Parlor (one of my favorite bars in the city) and The West Side Bazaar (a small business incubator highlighting a co-share kitchen with foods from all over the world). In general people come to the West Side for the urban vibe and the melting pot atmosphere. If you aren't used to more urban areas and all the things that come with them feel free to pass this listing for something more appropriately suited for your needs.

There is ample on-street parking for your stay. Please pay attention to the street signs so you don't get ticketed. The #3 Grant Street bus is the main bus line connecting you to other areas of the city.

My pillows and mattress are covered with hypo-allergenic covers which also keep out bugs. Please read my reviews left by guests who have stayed to see if my place is a good fit for you.

Just like living in any residential apartment building you will hear noise of people coming and going. You will most likely here other tenants will walk, talk, and watch TV in their apartments.

Shoes always come off at the door. I try to be a quiet neighbor so I expect others to be mindful of stomping, screaming, or playing loud music. Please turn off the lights when you leave and DOUBLE check that the gas on the stove is turned off. My rules may sound harsh but I take a lot of pride in my space and would simply ask that while you are in my apartment to pretend like you are visiting your in-laws. Just be respectful and tidy and you will get a wonderful review to take with you to your next Airbnb adventures. Folks who mess up my space and leave a mess will get a bad review.

There is absolutely NO Smoking cigarettes or weed inside the apartment. If you do...I will leave you a bad review.

All of the neighbors in the building are working professionals and so I can say that the building is safe. Please be mindful when entering and leaving the main building door. Like anywhere else don't leave the door unlocked and be aware of your surroundings.

Other details:

I have a small garbage can under the sink. Feel free to put trash in this can. Sometimes you will get small bags from grocery stores. I like to fill those up first with trash and hang from a hook on a cupboard to save on having to use the larger can. You can take these bags out daily which helps keep smells out of the apartment. There are large garbage cans outside the care downstairs on Lafayette. Garbage should be thrown into those bins through your stay.

While I recommend getting out and going to Sweetness_7 Cafe downstairs because it's the best cafe in the city. I will supply local coffee in my fridge and a FRENCH press you will find on my kitchen shelf if you are desperate. Just use the tea pot to boil the water and presto you are all set. Do not throw your coffee grinds into the sink. I think the best solution is to throw them with some water down the toilet.

If you use water out of my Brita filter in the fridge please fill er' up when you leave.

IMPORTANT: Do not leave ANY FOOD in the Fridge unless it's condiments that won't spoil. Anything that you bought during your stay...please throw away before you leave. So no FRUIT or BREAD or MILK etc... that way the fridge is always left clean from anything that can spoil.

Towels are given to you in the beginning of your stay. Because most people stay for 5 days please only use the towels provided. Do not take any other towels unless you let me know you need one. I need to make sure between my cleaners and my guests that laundry is coordinated properly.

If you bring your own towel please use that before using my stock pile. Just make sure before you leave you hang them over the shower or the bathroom door to dry so my cleaners can place them in the laundry basket.

FINAL REMINDER: I am offering you my space at a really good price because I want you to see my favorite part of the city. Please be respectful of my things and my space. (This comes after a few bad guests unfortunately) Clean up your mess. Wash your dishes etc. Don't smoke inside the apartment or even try to hang your head out the window. Smoke outside the building. Garbage goes outside at the end of your stay. Please don't move furniture around or take anything off the walls. (I had guests remove the large mirror across from the bed because they were superstitious)...RANDOM!

To the guests who leave my place just as they found it...THANK YOU!

Final reminder: if you are a messy person please move on to the next listing.

The Pop Inn was comfortable, convenient, and perfectly decorated. We are first time Airbnb users and had high expectations. Casey's place met and exceeded those expectations with his hipster like room designs and great hospitality! He had serve ware, linens, soap, etc.; everything we needed for our two night stay. We were traveling to Niagara Falls but wanted to stay in Buffalo, and it was only about a 25 minute drive. Casey's rules were completely understood once we entered the space since the surrounding neighbors and Cafe underneath can hear excessive noise. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay again if we return to Buffalo!

This place was fantastic! Beautifully appointed with mid-century modern touches. Cool location -- above a great cafe and walking distance from Resurgence brewery. Casey was an excellent host! Super responsive over text, gave us great recommendations for exploring the neighborhood, and super accommodating -- letting us check in really late at night and check out late the day we were supposed to leave. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Buffalo!

This place was great! Casey is a excellent host and helped me suggesting things to do around town. The location is close to get to any part of the town for sight seeing. The coffee house Sweetness cafe right underneath the apartment was great to have to get the day started nicely. Highly recommend and will be back. Thanks again Casey.

Casey's place is a spacious Buffalo hipster pad above one of the city's coolest coffee shops. The location is excellent - not too far either to downtown or the museums around Delaware Park. The decoration is colourful and creative - this is an old apartment though so has its quirks. Casey wasn't in town when I stayed but he was super communicative & has plenty of good suggestions on what to do. Recommend!

The apartment was neat and tidy, as described. It was a spacious, comfortable apartment for the 1 week that we did stay there. Casey was very helpful and quick to communicate with us with any of our concerns. There is a lovely little Cafè below the apartment if you didn't want to travel far for a coffee/breakfast/lunch. Being off a main road did get a little noisy with cars/music. As did the other tenants, we could hear the person who was staying above us walk around and could hear their conversations/television late at night. If you're planing on sleeping in, the curtains are quite thin and don't cover the length of the window, causing a lot of light in the morning and at night with the lights outside.
