A listed 17th century house with bags of character and all mod-cons included. Very comfortable, very well equipped, very big! Large gardens, great views, near to excellent beaches and countryside, good transport options, easy walk to village. South Wing is available for Christmas and New year 2016 with a minimum 7 night booking.

South Wing is the perfect base for a family holiday or a short break with a group of friends. The very well equipped kitchen invites you to prepare sumptuous meals which you can enjoy in the splendour of the oak panelled dining room. This is the perfect setting for a grand meal with family and friends. The dining table is actually made from benches recovered from the science laboratory when the house was converted back from a school. South Wing is fully loaded with all the crockery, cutlery and glassware that you need to make the most of this wonderful room.
The main lounge has a baby grand piano and inviting sofas. This stunning room also has a wood burner set in the middle of a beautiful fireplace. With a pile of logs from the wood store you can kick back and enjoy the glow of a real fire. Incidentally the enormous coffee table is made with some of the wood reclaimed from the school stage during the conversion in 1996.
The TV lounge has a large flat screen with Sky & BT Sports, Sky+ HD, a gas burning stove and large comfortable sofas. WiFi and music players are available throughout the house.
Upstairs are 5 huge bedrooms all with comfortable beds dressed in high quality Egyptian cotton linen and topped off with luxuriously warm duvets. The views from the bedrooms are truly glorious. To the south you look across the gardens to the adjacent tree lined golf course and tennis courts. To the east is the village, taking in the church spire and beyond to the sea at Hunmanby Gap.
The master bedroom suite offers a real sense of grandeur with chandeliers, a dressing room, en suite bathroom and, best of all, a south facing snug with private balcony overlooking the grounds.
There are 3 bathrooms and an additional toilet upstairs and downstairs and each guest is provided with thick absorbent cotton towels.
South Wing is centrally heated with radiators in every room.

South Wing is available as a house and all areas are accessible. Outside the gardens and woodland cover 1.5 acres. There is a BBQ and garden furniture. There are sports facilities very nearby available on a pay-and-play basis including golf and tennis.

The house is unoccupied but help is near at hand if needed with a handyman and caretaker. The keys are kept in a key safe and the code is provided before arrival. I am always available by phone or email.

South Wing is an easy walk to the well serviced village of Hunmanby set on the edge of the North Yorkshire Wolds and close to some fabulous sandy beaches. It makes a great base for walking, cycling and beach activities including surfing. Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington and are within a 20 minute drive with York and Whitby around 45 minutes. There are 5 pubs in the village, a great fish and chip shop and a good range of shops.

South Wing has 4 parking spaces for guests. Hunmanby has a train station with services to Hull and Scarborough. There are regular buses from the village.

South Wing is part of an old school which is now converted in to high quality accommodation. There are 4 spaces in the car park.

My wife and I have owned South Wing since early 2008. We use it as our family holiday home when our children are on holiday. At other times we let it out to holiday makers to enjoy. We love hearing from our guests, many of whom are regular visitors. We ask that guests enjoy the house and treat it with the same care and respect that we do. This is a strictly no-smoking property.
