Información sobre este anuncio
It is tucked away on the top floor to the back of the building, with great light pouring through the 4 large windows in the main space. But you have the added feature of having dark drapes that allow for a cozy cocoon for sleep and that much needed escape from the chaos that is NYC.
As the name implies, it is studio of serenity, for it is very quiet.
Beautifully quiet 520 sq ft Studio in refurbished red brick building in Spanish Harlem, NYC. Within close proximity to mast transit. The 520 sq ft studio is on the 5th/top floor of the elevator building, to the back of building, overlooking the back courtyard of the adjacent buildings. All at a respectable distance that allows for privacy. Kitchen and bath are separate from the main studio and each have windows that allow for natural light. The main studio also has natural light from the four windows around the room. The style is very much an eclectic mix of east/west which marries the past with the modern.
Of the upmost importance is that the building is next to an above ground Metro North train track and you will experience the muffled sound of the train as it passes. I indicate that the space is quiet in comparison to the other apartments located to the form or side that faced the track.
Clean, quiet and serene atmosphere that provides an escape from the hectic pace of NYC. As the space is un-hosted, it is your New York pied a terre away from home in the historic Spanish Harlem area.
You are within close proximity to Central Park North East and the public bus M1, M2, M3 that will take you along the Museum Mile. Here you will find the Guggenheim, the Frick and the Metropolitan museums to name a few, all located on 5th Ave.
Within walking distance of Fredric Douglas Blvd one can find quite a variety of restaurants from Zoma (Ethiopian cuisine) and Harlem Tavern. You have Amy Ruth's on 116th and Kiosk (Moroccan cuisine) just downstair as you exit the building. Also the Urban Spoon app can also point you in the direction of what may interest your culinary taste.
For shopping you take the 6 (green line) down to Bloomingdales at 59th and Lexington. You also have the option of taking the M102, M103 and M101 buses on Lexington. You also can take the M1, M2 and M3 down 5th Ave to shop along 5th Ave from 57th St all the way down to 34th St. Along this route you will find both high to moderate price points such as Gucci and the like for the high end, or Forever 21 and H&M for the moderate to low end. All the above area can be reached by public buses or subway and can be referenced via the internet.
The uniqueness that this offering affords you is the escape to tranquility, with the hustle and bustle of New York just outside your door, the beauty of Central Park in close proximity and all the other offerings of NYC.

The Supermarket that was situated half way down the block has closed, but there is another supermarket 3 blocks west of the apartment between 116th and 117th on Malcolm X Blvd / Lennox Ave, named Fine Fare.
A great café has open on the south east corner of 116th and Park Ave on the opposite corner of the building (the accommodation is on the south west corner) and is called Café Adar. Serving a great start up breakfast of home baked pastries to go with your morning coffee or tea, with that coming additions of light food fare of various sandwiches. Just the right thing to start you day off to explore the city, as you walk down the street to Lexington and take the 6 (green line) downtown.
No smoking in apartment.
No pets allowed in apartment.
Recycling is required in the building, separate trash from plastics, cans and paper/cardboard boxes. Trash to be disposed of via chute by stairwell, recycling to be carried down to the basement level.
Shoes are left at the door upon walking into the apartment. Shoe rack is provided upon entry. (Though re-furbished the building is old and heavy footsteps on the wooden floor reverberates to the lower floors. As you on the top floor it is only polite and courteous to those that live below that you walk gently. )
Leave the studio as clean as you have found it.

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, now a naturalized citizen working in the fashion industry for the past 20 years. One of the great benefits of my job is the extensive travel that comes with it and with that the appreciation of different cultures. From the ways of life expressed through art, cuisine, clothing, interior decor and lanscape to name a few. One of the beauties of NYC life is the diversity that can be found in traversing a few blocks of this island and the other boroughs as well. To summarize, it is an open mind that allows others to see one's place of residency with the same open mind that is needed when traveling the world. Cultures differ but intrinsically we are all gregarious human beings, smile and the world smiles with you.
