Or savor a glass of wine as you watch the sunset behind the mountain and plan a hike to the Northwest corner, where there is an old post marking the NY/VT state boundary. (Our property backs up to 800 acres of state forest and mountains.) Either way be sure to take a rest and take in the breathtaking views at “The Fork" on your way up.
We love the area and property so much we also bought the cabin next door. Feel free to mosey over and check out the pond, the active Christmas tree farm and the tiny 10 person cemetery dating from the early 1800s. (The cabin is also for rent (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) 745850).
Each of the two bedrooms have a new queen size bed. One bedroom also has a bunk bed w two twin size mattresses (150lb weight limit on top bunk). There is a full size Klik-Klak futon in the great room (next to a full bath and a door that can be closed off to the rest of house, giving this space the privacy of a 3rdbedroom, if needed) . The upstairs bath is quite large and updated, as is the first floor bath.

If you are looking for peace and quiet with mountain and meadow views, on a quiet country road, this is the place. The kitchen is well equipped for meal prep, including a six burner gas range and electric oven, dishwasher, full-size fridge and freezer. You don't have to leave, except for a walk down the road, or up the mountain trail from the back yard. You can lose track of time sitting by the creek or on the back porch. As described, this is a working Christmas tree farm, so you may experience some intermittent activity around the property; otherwise it's extremely quiet. You may see hummingbirds, deer, butterflies and bees. Nature is at its best here.

This is a great place to stay. My wife and I and our 4 children stayed at the Farmhouse for 7 days in June and we were very comfortable there. The back porch is a nice place for a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine (or Gin and tonic) in the evening. The thing we cannot say enough good about is how smoothly everything went working with Susan. She had everything ready for us for check in and responded to texts and emails very promptly. Driving to and from our day destinations took a little more time than we anticipated but the views are beautiful and the quiet location of the house is one of the attractions. Enjoy!

We were thrilled with our decision to spend Christmas in the Vermont Farmhouse. Susan's home combines the best of both worlds bringing together the charm of a 200 year old house which has been completely updated to offer modern conveniences. There are many activities to enjoy nearby, even for non-skiers. We enjoyed lunch in front of one of the many fireplaces at the nearby Publyk House with it's excellent service and amazing views. We took in the view during the short, scenic, drive to Manchester to spend a day shopping the outlets and visiting two of the many restaurants (Up for Breakfast is a must-do as is stopping by the Chocolate Barn for the best ice cream in the country) and we spent our evenings at the Farmhouse watching movies and enjoying a crackling fire. The beds are comfortable, and bathrooms are private, clean and well equipped. The kitchen is amazing. We can't wait to go back and enjoy the porch in the summer. Tip: Map out the closest gas station and the operating hours, I think Stewarts in Waloomsac is the nearest 24hour gas.

Perfect quiet, yet adventurous spot for any individual or family looking to sneak away from the hustle of the city. Property is huge with bubbling creek, hammock, trails. House is spacious & offers a lovely back deck with cozy swinging daybed, table with chairs & new grill. Inside the house is broken up nicely with a fireplace room, kitchen with large stove & plenty of seating & an addition on the back of the house. I used this space as inspiration to get creative. All bedrooms are upstairs with large bathroom. Very clean. Was the perfect early winter retreat. Beautiful surroundings with the mountains a constant backdrop. Drove to Manchester for an afternoon of antiquing & Powers Market in town had excellent sandwiches & all day breakfast. Thanks Susan & Gus! Will definitely be back!

Susan was very prompt in responding to all my emails, and generously allowed us an early check in upon our arrival. Detailed instructions were available for accessing all we needed for a very comfortable stay at this beautiful farmhouse in a gorgeous setting! When next we return to the area we will most definitely be looking to stay at this location again.

Susan responded quickly and with all the information I needed. The house was very comfortable with good bedding, a lovely kitchen, and lots of places to sit and enjoy the pastoral views. Set on a remote country road, the house was nonetheless easy to find, but shop first and cook at the house (it's a long drive to restaurants and stores). We visited at the gorgeous peak of leaf season, but it would be lovely to visit in summer and eat meals on the cutely furnished porch.

We loved, loved, loved the location! You can easily spend a day just walking and hiking around the farmhouse. It's gorgeously remodeled inside as well. Susan was very responsive with the few questions we had. We would love to stay again another time, and truly do some hiking. Having a car is a must to get around by the way.

My husband and I have been married for over 35 years and have 4 grown children, who live in different parts of the country. We were looking for a plot of land, but instead found this slice of paradise. The property is peaceful, beautiful and quiet, yet so close to southern VT area attractions. In the warmer months we enjoy checking out Vermonts little towns and antique stores, and discovering all the nearby swimming holes. Bromley Summer Park is quite amazing! In the winter we enjoy snowshoeing on the property ( I need to get cross counrty skis this year!) and downhill skiing at Bromley and Stratton. Plan on spending a day to explore the property- you may not even want to leave! We love it here and hope you love it as much as we do!
