"The Captain's House" is a stunning 4 suite boutique inn complete with a walled courtyard, imported wrought iron gates, balconies, and archways. It is inspired by the original "Captain's House" in downtown Charleston. It is seconds from access to the Charleston harbor and only 5-10 minutes from area beaches and historic downtown Charleston. "The Schooner Suite" is one of four suites within "The Captain's House". If more rooms are needed, please refer to our other suites for availability.
"The Schooner Suite" is located in "The Captain's House". The suite has a custom fireplace, flat screen TV, refrigerator, coffee maker, computer desk and comfortable chairs. The beautiful bathroom has a claw foot tub, shiplap interiors, and luxurious linens. The spacious suite is decorated with a nautical theme.

What sets my accomodations apart from others, is the peaceful and very private courtyard. Guests share this area but the size of it can allow one guest to meditate in one area among the various plants, while another may enjoy a good read while savorying that first cup.

I am a healthcare professional who enjoys the outdoors especially when it comes to water sports. I grew up in Charleston, moved away for college, the military, grad and professional school, but I had to come back to the "Holy City" and her rich historic beauty. When I'm not working, you can normally find me in the harbor or offshore on my sailboat due to my absolute addiction with sailing. I am the proud single father of an amazing son who is serving in the Navy. I enjoy meeting people and sharing my experiences with them. I am new to the Airbnb scene, however; I have had a side business chartering my sailboat for over 10 years even taking some guests on destination charters. I think I will be a great host because it can't be much different from a sailboat you just don't rock as much. My philosophy is I want to treat guests the way that I would want to be treated if I were being hosted by them. There is joy found in watching someone else smile knowing that it was something I did that induced it.
