A stylish holiday cottage in a rural setting, 4 miles inland from the coast at Aldeburgh. The cottage was part of a former farm and stands in a quiet, tucked away position along an unmade lane with wonderful countryside all around. Positioned on the edge of the Suffolk Coastal Cycle route, there are fantastic paths for cycling and dog walking right from the door.

El alojamiento

You enter the cottage via a spacious hallway with doors to an L-shaped open plan sitting/dining/kitchen which features a wood burning stove and door opening to the south facing garden. There is also a ground floor double bedroom and shower room, which may suit those needing easy access. Upstairs there is a twin-bedded room, a large double bedroom and a family bathroom.
The kitchen is well equipped and you'll find most things you could need for a self-catering holiday, but when you book, we can send you a complete list so that you know before you arrive.

Outside there is a private south-facing patio garden to the rear and side with seating for outside dining. There is plenty of parking and a grassed area to the front which guests are welcome to use for games, sitting or just enjoying the fresh air. We have secure bicycle storage should you need it and a tennis court which you are also welcome to use – so bring your rackets!

If you enjoy staying away from the roads then you can follow the footpaths from the cottage to the beach which is approx 2.5miles and goes through great countryside. The path leads you to The North Warren Nature Reserve, or into Thorpeness past the golf course and rowing lake, or Aldeburgh

We have secure bicycle storage should you need it.

Fantastic stay! We brought our parents here to celebrate their birthdays and we all couldn't have enjoyed it more! The house is spacious but cosy, very clean and catered for our every needs. We love that it is tucked out of the way as it's perfect for lovely dog walks from your door step.

East Barn was the perfect holiday home for a family of 4 plus grandparents. It felt like a home away from home - appointed to a very high standard with good quality appliances, linens etc. The tennis court was an added bonus. The location is central to all the surrounding villages and from the property you can walk off road all the way to Thorpeness and Aldeburgh. Mark and Jan were fantastic hosts and were quick to give advice on what to see as well as to respond to any questions we had.
