Come stay with me and share a great experience with other like-minded travelers on the beautiful waters of Key West!

Take in the natural beauty of Key West from the deck of a 68 ft cutter-rig sailboat restoration project and experience life on a ship with beautiful sunsets and sunrises, campfires on the rear deck, great conversation with other like-minded travelers, Cuban coffee in the morning, swimming right off the boat, even a free mini snorkeling trip (weather permitting)! With so much to do and such a unique environment to do it in, your sure to get to most for your lodging dollars and an experience you won't find anywhere else in town!

Sleeping accommodations are on-deck, camping style, under the stars on deck with basic bedding provided. If you're looking for a more adventurous lodging experience, appreciate a lack of amenities, then this is for you! If you are expecting posh accommodations that compare to a hotel room, this is NOT for you and you will be disappointed.

The boat is still under renovation and although considerable progress is being made every week, it still has quite a way to go to being complete. There is limited fresh water on board so don't expect to be able to take a shower. There are showers available for purchase at the local marina (that's what I do) and also free showers at the public beach. There is space inside in case of rain but please remember, it is still a construction site and everything is unfinished. There is electricity on the boat as well as good cell service (I don't have WiFi) so make sure you bring your phone charger!

You're welcome to dive, jump and swim from the ship and even make use of the rope swing (make sure to bring a towel)! For the free snorkel trip, we will visit a nearby shipwreck where there are lots of small fish and lobsters who inhabit the site. This trip takes place at (or near) 7:00 pm. At night, we get the campfire started and sit around and share stories and get to know everyone. A fresh pot of Cuban coffee is automatically brewed at 7:30 am. You're also welcome to bring other food with you, but keep in mind that you'll need to bring a cooler for anything that requires refrigeration. Don't bring anything that you need to cook!

The AirBnB website doesn't provide me with the ability to accurately depict the types of beds I have so here is the full info on that: there are typically just foam mattresses to use to sleep on deck and everyone gets one. There are two benches in the cockpit (displayed as couches on the site) you can sleep on with your foam mattress as well, plus a set of bunk beds down below deck and a double bed, too. AirBnB only let me display up to 5 floor mattresses so I had to make the other 5 that I have show as air mattresses (I don't have air mattresses, just foam mattresses, which are nicer anyway).

This boat is anchored out in the harbor and requires a boat ride to get to. Exclusively for my guests, each reserved night includes one free water taxi ride in the evening and one in the morning between the hours of 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm and 9:00 am and 10:00 am. You can purchase extra rides from the local water taxi between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:00 pm for $15/person. All ride requests must be scheduled in advance and times are subject to availability. If you miss your scheduled ride time then you will have to wait for the next available slot and possibly forfeit your free ride. If you miss the window of operating time for the water taxi (10:00 pm), you will need to find another way out to the boat. If you need to get to shore before rides begin in the morning, you will need to make other arrangements to do so. The water taxi service does offer emergency service for an additional fee. This water taxi service is an independent business and is not affiliated with AirBnB or its hosts.

In the event that the booked accommodation is unavailable, I reserve the right to substitute a vessel of equal or greater accommodation.

Sleeping on a boat after doing a bonfire is a beautiful experience. If you can live without luxuries, you will enjoy this. Now, I have to point out that Ryan's instructions are strictly enforced. We arrived 20min late to the deck and although we had advised him with time, he didn't wait for us, which meant that we had to pay extra 15usd/person to rent a boat taxi for a 3min trip. The boat driver (the "captain") came across to us as quite rude. Moreover, our impression was that the boat isn't under construction as announced but permanently sketchy. That didn't impair our ability to enjoy it (the bathroom was surprisingly better than expected), but we felt that the description may have not accurately described the state of the boat. That said, the crew is super friendly and will make you feel as comfortable as possible. An overall good experience.

Respuesta de Ryan:
I'm not sure how you can say that the boat is not under construction but then say that the bathroom is surprisingly better than expected. You should have seen the bathroom a few months ago, and the galley. In fact, the pictures of the renovation progress are available to the public on the boats (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page, S/V Andromeda. Also, yes, expecting the taxi to wait an additional 20 minutes for you so you don't have to pay him, which is also asking the other guests on the boat to sit at the dock and wait for you, is asking too much. You should be considerate of others and accept your own mistakes as your own.

Nature kept us on our toes as we expected! Sunset was spectacular followed by a show of lightning from afar. This is definitely for the adventurous traveler with nothing short of an amazing experience. Should you comprehend the detailed description of the listing, you will not be disappointed. We had nature alarms (sprinkle/drizzle) a couple of times during our one night stay, but can't fight nature. The crew was exceptional and great conversationalists. The foam bedding was surprisingly comfortable, better than expected, and a lot better than sleeping on the bare deck. The views, sea breeze, and company were definitely the winning formula. Thanks to the guys for a great stay. And ps, don't be afraid to rope swing off the boat. Bathroom is a boat bathroom and is newly remodeled. We had to arrange a ride into the boat as we had aviation technical difficulties, but it was a breeze to find the water taxi, who knew exactly where to go. Don't forget to tip your guys! Tip: *Pack light and pack food/snack/libation as the only way in and out of the boat is to pay to shuttle back and fort in land- but that was clearly noted as you book. they do have a cooler which you can put things into, but it is a cooler -not a fridge. *Think boat/camping and anticipate your own personal needs. There is no shower available as indicated, and very little fresh water. Bring your own for consumption and for your personal needs. Bring your own towel and a bag to put wet clothes in for your departure. Have a great time with Ryan and the crew!

We had an amazing stay with Ryan and Dustin! Super cool guys who are very easy to communicate with, you can tell they definitely are invested in showing you a good time. They were kind enough to offer us their own bunks in the cabin when the forecast said rain was coming. Absolutely can't beat waking up to the sunrise over the ocean. Got to do some snorkeling and met some awesome people who were staying on the boat with us. The foam mattresses are actually super comfortable. 10/10 would recommend!!

Sleeping out under the stars was exactly what our group of seven wanted on our last night in the Keys. It is not fancy, but the sunset alone is worth the price!

Hi, I'm Ryan! In a former life I owned and operated a GIS and data analysis business in the oil and gas industry but, with the downturn in the commodity price, I was forced to find a new career path. It's a long story, and you might get to hear it, but I eventually came up with the idea to rent out my boat in the Florida Keys. I'm currently in the process of renovating a sailboat that will become my full-time charter vessel to destinations in the Caribbean and beyond!
