Diwan Al Baik is a traditional Lebanese house with a colorful garden, built by Joseph's grandfather 170 years ago. We hope this could be your home away from home.

The building has been build 170 years ago, with traditional stone walls and wooden roofs. The house is comprised of 3 independent parts. Me and my family live in the main building and the guests will have access to their independent rooms. You will use a common space with 7 comfortable couches and a shared bathroom. Our garden and our 2 terraces, full of flowers and trees, will provide you a nice time protected from the shining Lebanese sun.

I will be very happy to chat with you all along your stay, always available to help you with any information you need to travel in our beautiful region. We'll be happy to offer you a tasteful Lebanese coffee at any time of the day!

Douma is a beautiful traditional village settled in the Tannourine's mountains. When in Douma, you won't need a car. Just enjoy walking along the village's narrow streets past lovely traditional homes nestled under old beautiful trees that will make you smile. You can visit the park, the artisan museum (Mathaf Douma al Asari), the old churches and souk. You can visit the traditional shops and buy plenty of home made products.
In the area several activities are available: hiking, biking, rock climbing, boating canoeing and Kayaking at Douma Park, visiting Balouh Balaa cave, the cedars reserve and many others within 40 minutes by car.

You can easily rent a car in Beirut. Otherwise, with public transport, you can take a van/bus in Beirut or Tripoli up to Batroun (2 USD) and then a taxi to Douma (20 USD).
I'll be happy to help you with transport, booking a taxi, or coming pick you up at the airport or in Batroun.

We'll be proud to give you breakfast and meals. A plentiful organic breakfast of fresh milk, eggs and homemade jams is a great way to start your day. We can also prepare you a traditional Lebanese dinner to make you taste all the specialties of our country.

The visit to Joseph's house in Douma stood out from all my other experiences in Lebanon. Joseph and his family made us feel at home, cooked delicious home made food for us and Joseph was incredibly kind to show us around the village before we left. It was a real pleasure to stay in his historic house, relax in his lush garden and to chat to his family. I like Lebanon a lot more after having met this incredible family in such a nice spot!

There wasn't that much information about this places so I was hesitant to book there but it turned out to be a very good decision. The family-run guesthouse is a 200 year-old traditional Lebanese house with a lot of charm and character. You should DEFINITELY eat lunch or dinner there (an additional $25) for an incredible and traditional Lebanese spread of farm-fresh, organic and homemade hummus, mutabal, cheese, lebneh, makdous, chicken, tabbouleh, fatoosh, kubba, and a lot more. It was foodie heaven. Moreover, the village of Douma was very charming with a picturesque souq that is definitely worth a few visits. For $10 there and back, they also drove me to nearby Tannourine Tahta, which is just a few minutes away to do some outdoor rock climbing. The family is always there and happy to chat with you. Safa and her daughter Nisreene are amazing cooks and Joseph and his family are such welcoming and kind hosts. I will definitely be coming back again.

Joseph is a humble man running a guesthouse in the heart of Douma, North Lebanon. His character is marked by honesty, transparency and appreciation of commitment. Nature and food lover, Joseph makes sure to prepare organic home food, straight from his farm, where he produces meat, eggs, milk and other dairy products. His motto is “on the run,” Joseph crosses 3 kilometers each day to go to his farm, even during winter when snow blocks the roa
