Stay in a 2BR/1BA apartment at a 1950s-inspired retro motel with as much personality as its owner, Nashville BBQ legend Jack Cawthon. Walk next door to Jack’s Bar-B-Que and try the best brisket and ribs in the city!


The story starts in 1831, when this site in Capitol Hill was home to the Tennessee State Penitentiary. The jail was moved in 1898, and the Governor divided the property. Over a hundred years later in 2013, Jack restored a corner of this 10-acre stretch and opened his third restaurant, Jack’s Bar-B-Que – now a Nashville landmark.

Since then, Jack acquired the land behind Jack’s Bar-B-Que and created McMillin Court, a 1950’s-inspired, 15-unit motel where you can gather with a group of nearly any size. Each unit at McMillin Court sleeps 6 people, with room for up to 90 guests total.

All just two minutes from Music City’s best attractions – including Bridgestone Arena, The Ryman, Country Music Hall of Fame and Honky Tonk Row. Head up the stairs at McMillin Court and the skyline views will show you how close you are to downtown!


Events find a one-of-a-kind home here, too. McMillin Court can host catered corporate gatherings, weddings, and other large-scale celebrations – all made better with a BBQ feast (provided by Jack’s Bar-B-Que, of course) under tent cover in the landscaped courtyard. Every apartment at McMillin Court has the same layout of two nearly identical bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, and one bathroom. Two more guests can crash on the sleeper sofa in the living area.

All 6 guests can gather around the flat-screen or dig into a take-out BBQ at the dining nook with retro chairs.

Or prepare your own meals in a designer kitchen with granite countertops and appliances including a microwave, stovetop and small oven. A convenient shared bath has a shower/tub combo.


Explore Nashville’s rich history and unrivalled music scene! For a few measly dollars, you can grab an Uber or Lyft and travel a few minutes to the city’s most famed attractions, including Centennial Park, Capitol Hill, Bridgestone Arena, The Ryman, Country Music Hall of Fame and Honky Tonk Row.

Just across the street, you’ll find William Edmonson Park and a bus stop if you’d rather ride with the locals down Charlotte Avenue into the heart of Music City.

When you’ve worked up an appetite, Jack invites you to visit his landmark BBQ joint for a heaping plate of Texas beef brisket or St. Louis style ribs, or call in your order for easy pick-up to enjoy at home.

*Guests must be over the age of 25 and will be an occupant of the unit during the entire reserved period.
*No parties, excessive noise, or any illegal activity shall take place at property.

*No pets are allowed unless otherwise noted for specific properties.

* No smoking is allowed in or around any property.

Cleaning: Each property will be cleaned and inspected after your departure. We ask you to help us enable the cleaning crews as much as possible. Simple things like leaving the property tidy, running the dishwasher, starting to wash the towels, and taking out the trash are expected of our guests.

If excessive wear and tear is found on property, or additional cleaning is necessary due to spills, trash left on site, unclean dishes, stains to furniture, carpeting, linens, paint, wallpaper, or flooring, Guest authorizes the Owner to bill them for additional fees. If at any time the maximum number of occupants is exceeded or if the Owner receives information about excessive noise, Owner has the right to evict Guest and all occupants immediately and to bill the guest a minimum service fee of $250. If any sign of smoking is discovered Guest authorizes the Owner to charge the guest a minimum $500 cleaning fee. Unless the rental policy specifically allows, if any sign of any pet is discovered Guest authorizes Owner to charge the guest an additional minimum $500 cleaning fee.

Properties are fully furnished properties that will include bedspreads, linens, blankets, pillows, towels, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, furnishings unless otherwise specified.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended for any stay.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at this location. We were never sent the gate code or the door code prior to our arrival and were on the phone for 40 minutes at arrival time trying to have management send us the proper email. Also, they never sent us a wifi password so we had to wait another 20 minutes on the phone for the password. Overall the place was small but had all the amenities we needed. However, it was very dusty, and few dead bugs in the living room. What was most inconvenient was that the shower did not drain, so we had to take very short showers and wait for 35 minutes between each person to shower so it could drain.

We are a bit confused that you mentioned not receiving your arrival instructions (which included the key code and wifi information) because we show an email send to address associated with your name. With regards to having to be on hold for so long for assistance, we completely agree that should not occur. For any inconvenience that caused, we are truly sorry. Although not a great excuse, the weekend of New Years Eve was very busy, and our agents were doing their best to handle the massive volume of calls we received from current guests and last-minute bookings. Please know going forward we are making sure to be more prepared for busy holiday weekends. We thought you were perfect guests and wish we could have made this experience a better one for you. Great stay. However, I was not a fan about having to sign a separate lease that the host emailed me for a 4 day stay.

The property was just as described, very nice. Although there were renovations going on to upgrade the other units, the staff was exceptional with consideration to noise, clean up and very friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Overall we had a good experience with McMillin Court. I traveled with 3 other girls and the space was a bit tight for all 4 of us but we managed. The beds/bedding/towels were all new and comfy. The cleanliness was great, except for some reason the kitchen and fridge/freezer smelt like tuna. It wasn't over powering but you definitely knew it was there. Location to downtown was easy and overall felt very safe here. (Great liquor store just up the hill at the end of McMillin). The tablet and smart tv in the room was an added bonus and great to use to listen to music or see what was in the area for things to do.

Great place. It has a great Nashville charm to it. It's about a mile from midtown, which is easily walkable, and a short Uber ride to downtown. The people who manage the property were very friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend this place.

This is a nice apartment although it's further out from the city centre than we originally anticipated. It's a short taxi ride, fortunately. It was in good condition and was clean and cosy. However the blinds in the bedroom are not very effective and we awoke early due to the sunlight streaming through. Also the neighbours were doing DIY at 8am on two occasions which awoke us and on our last day we heard what sounded like a lawn mower outside the property at 7am which we felt was far too early. Other than that it's a small apartment with all the amenities you would want.
