My husband and I stayed at Romanos' place in June 2017, and loved it. The apartment was scrupulously clean, and very well equipped. We are vegetarian, and had all the kitchen equipment - beautiful as new - we needed to cook, with pots nice and big compared to what one often finds in short-term stay apartments, and a lovely wooden cutting board. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (and I am extremely picky). We enjoyed the outdoor area very much, with the deck chairs and the outdoor table and chairs - and loved sitting in the hammock in the garden. It was also great fun to use the basketball and hoop in the garden! It was very nice to have somewhere to stay that we could relax in, and not feel we *had* to go out. Romanos and his mother and father were very welcoming. His mother brought us some of her home-made fruit-and-nut bread, and a breakfast fruit spread, that were delicious - it was very kind of her. We adored the village of Ag. Mattheos, and felt we were really seeing a wonderful, traditional of a way of life there. It is only 10 minutes walk to the main street, where we enjoyed excellent espresso (and Greek sweets!) at the bakery on several days, and had a meal at the taverna. From the studio, if you walk up the street to the main street of Ag. Mattheous, and then keep going straight up the hill, you can walk to an old monastery. There are fantastic views on the way, and also if you scramble around outside the monastery, some nice little trails also with amazing views. From the studio, we could drive in 10 minutes to our favorite beach, Prassudi Beach, which is simply lovely. We easily spent a couple of days relaxing there, swimming, it is quite quiet, you can rent a beach umbrella, and the taverna there has to be one of the nicest places to eat anywhere. :) The food is pretty good, we absolutely loved the grilled mushrooms. So - thank you so much to Romanos and his family for the experience of the studio and the wonderful surrounding area, we loved it!
