Descripción

This charming residence is within walking distance of the many coffee houses, restaurants, galleries, clubs and unique shops of downtown Nelson. You’ll love the heritage character, privacy and warm welcoming ambiance of wood floors, comfortable furnishings and a lovely yard. It's location in a leafy, quiet residential neighborhood provides a haven for relaxation and rest, while offering easy access to all that Nelson and it's beautiful surroundings have to offer.

My home has 2 bedrooms. One is in the main part of the house and close to the bathroom. The second bedroom is accessed by crossing a small outside deck attached to the house, giving it the feeling that you are retiring to a separate cottage for the evening! This spacial separation allows for great privacy for adults but may be too much separation for parents with young children.

The main floor of the house is available to my guests: entrance, LR, DR, kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and private deck. There is also a lovely terraced yard to which guests are welcome to explore, to sit and relax or take the sun.
There is a second suite in the house that is entirely private and not accessible to my guests. While it's entrance is completely separate and sound separation adequate, guests may occasionally hear the quiet sounds of someone living elsewhere on the premises. My guests can be assured that their security, peace and quiet will not be disturbed.
I myself have a personal space on the lower level and can be readily available to assist my guests with any concerns. However, I generally like to give visitors lots of privacy.

For the most part, I will be available on your arrival to pass over keys and to give you a brief orientation to the house. I am at your disposal at any time (via text, phone or email) to assist with any questions about the house or to offer recommendations for dining, activities in the area, etc.
Occasionally, I may be out of area myself but I will give lots of notice if this is the case and will make contingency plans for your welcome as your stay approaches.
My intention is for you to feel taken care of while not impinging in any way on your privacy, peace or comfort.

Our neighbourhood is residential and quiet. From the house it is a safe and pleasant walk in any direction to enjoy the many types of architecture in housing as well as proudly tended and innovative yards and gardens.
There is a small convenience store nearby (the Burrell Grocery) which offers an amazingly wide variety of items ranging from basics such as eggs and milk to locally crafted foods such as gelato, coffee, homemade soups, breads and chocolates. A bus stop is located at this intersection also.
Baker Street, Nelson's main street, is a 10-minute walk downhill where you will find great cafes and restaurants, coffee shops, grocers and bakeries, banks, hotels, galleries, spas, bars and clubs, many unique shops, street art/sculpture and fabulous people watching!
You will never be bored!!

There is ample street parking in front of the house and also a private driveway dedicated to my guests parking needs.

As Nelson is quite a small town, no destination inside city limits is more than a 5-10 minute drive. It's a "walking town", meaning much of the town can be accessed on foot (obviously easier going downhill than up!!) There is a public bus stop one block from the house.

Parking in the town center is metered. In summer when there is a lot going on, it can be a challenge to find parking, particularly on Wednesdays and Saturdays when the Farmer's Markets are in full swing. However, there is a parkade on Vernon St. and you can find free parking of 2-4 hours duration a few blocks away from the downtown core.

Near the waterfront is a mall with SaveOn Foods and Walmart bracketing a number of stores within the mall. From the Mall parking lot one has a great view of the water and access to walking paths along the lake shore to sports fields and our local Lakeside Park with a safe, sandy swimming beach.

The house is well-situated for getting out of town. The Whitewater ski hill is about a 20 minute drive away and access is close by for highways leading south and west.

At this time I do not have a washer/dryer accessible for my guests.

Trish's house is super cute and warm with everything we needed for our stay. Trish was a great communicator before and during our booking, even though she was on holidays herself at the time.

Found this charming accommodation on Airbnb. It was perfect! A 10 - 15 minute walk to downtown Nelson for shopping, groceries and restaurants. Although we didn't ski the hill is only 30 minutes away.

We stayed 3 days in September 2016. Trish was very communicative, and was waiting for us on our arrival. She gave us a quick tour and left us with some much-appreciated supplies. The house is charming, comfortable, and well equipped. We really enjoyed the little deck in the garden - it's very private and shaded in the afternoon. It's a short but steep walk down to the centre of town, with a great coffee house (Oso Negro) along the way. The neighbourhood is quiet and leafy. There is a convenience store one block sideways (across the hillside). We would definitely stay again, and recommend it to others.

Respuesta de Trish:
Hi John Thank you for your positive feedback. I love to share my space with guests and offer them the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful gem of a town. I will definitely get some new (bigger) deck chairs for next fact, it has been on my shopping list to do! And yes, your suggestion to mention on my profile that there is another suite in my home is thoughtful. Even though it is completely private with good sound separation, it would be helpful for guests to realize this fact in advance. Thanks again John for you comments. It was a pleasure to have you stay.

Trish definitely made us feel welcome and was available to greet us when we arrived. I appreciated her responsive and clear communication. She even came by at our request the first evening to successfully adjust the internet connection. The house is beautiful, charming, quaint, and tastefully done, great energy, warm and inviting, spacious and easy to live in. The kitchen is large with every convenience and gadget imaginable, including extra candles, a bottle of wine to greet us, and a gas grill on the patio. The garden is lovely. The shower and bath are excellent and bedrooms very comfortable. The neighborhood is charming, and downtown is easily walkable. This is a real gem. We loved staying here and would definitely stay again in the future.
