The Russell Treehouse looks out over the tree tops. It is quiet and peaceful yet close to historic Russell town with its assortment of cafes, restaurants, grocery and other shops only a short walk away.

The Treehouse is set among trees adjoining bush clad reserves, home to many birds, including birds unique to New Zealand. Hear Kiwi at night and see the rare endemic North Island Weka that live around the house. And don’t forget to look at the stars on a cloudless night!

El alojamiento

The Treehouse is in a no-exit street that has little traffic, the main passers-by are walkers going to experience the panoramic view from the historic Flagpole set above Russell, just a short walk away from the Treehouse.
There is private access to the Department of Conservation tracks in the reserves below the Treehouse and a short walk at low tide to Russell village via Watering Beach. Whalers of the wild olden times used to put the water from a creek on this beach into barrels then row them out to their sailing ships anchored off Russell.

The Tree House has wrap-around decks enabling you to find a sunny spot all day long.
There is a fully equipped kitchen and an eclectic assortment of books and DVDs.

We live in Russell and can give advice or support if needed.
Cost is all inclusive with no extras for bed-linen, towels or cleaning.

Helen and Lindsay have both been in Russell over twenty years. Helen is involved in New Zealand conservation work and Lindsay has researched and written on aspects of Russell’s unique past.
Russell is a town we both love.

Atención a los huéspedes

We are usually just a phonecall away, if help is needed.

Otros aspectos destacables

We do not allow pets in the Russell Treehouse; this is to protect New Zealand's flightless birds, the kiwi and weka. These amazing birds live just below the treehouse and in the neighbouring Department of Conservation reserves.

We had a great stay at this gorgeous house. We rather preferred staying in this beautiful house than going for a walk - although the house is perfectly located. It is close to town and different sights, but very quiet inside and outside on the nice verandah. It is beautifully decorated. There are many good books, CDs and DVDs. So it never gets boring. Helen and Lindsay are wonderful hosts. We felt very welcome and would love to come back whenever we will come to NZ again. We absolutely recommend this accommodation.
