Ideally facing NE on the bay, this waterfront studio with shaded patio, kitchenette, dining & lounge is very peaceful with sea views and cooling breezes. Relax, walk, play golf or use as a base and with separate entry you can come & go. There's a bayside path to the golf club (400 m), pub & village shops (1 km). It's only 40 mins by car from the City, Airport, Gold Coast and hinterland rainforest. There's a new build next door, but it's still mostly quiet and they start long after the sun is up.
The studio apartment is an independent part of our home and is the only living area on the ground floor. It is modern and tastefully furnished. It can be open to enjoy the views and bay breezes or snug and private with the block-out curtains closed. The granite patio is yours to enjoy with an adjustable shade awning, manicured garden and those views of the bay as the tide goes in and out.
The apartment is more spacious and light than the photos indicate as I've been told by many guests. It has high ceilings, marble floors and bathroom, high quality fixtures, curtains and paintings.
It has a fully equipped kitchenette with convection grill microwave, hotplates and electric frypan if you want to cook. There's also a free public barbecue down by the water in front.
The bathroom is equipped with shampoo, conditioner and soaps as well as towels. There are beach towels for taking out on trips.
The sofa faces the TV and DVD, as well as the view, with surround sound and some DVDs are provided for your use. We have a few more upstairs. There are also books about the area and an assortment of novels.
The bed is Queen sized with cotton sheets, a quilt and cotton blanket and an assortment of pillows to suit everyone.
The floors are natural marble which is absorbent and easily etched by acids such as fruit juice and scratched by sand and any hard surface. We'd ask that you please wipe your shoes well on the front mat and avoid bringing in sand and dragging or rolling cases or furniture on the floor.
There is a security screen on the sliding glass door beside the bed that can be left open except in driving rain. The louvres near the kitchenette and the ones in the bathroom are also security screened and can be left open for flow through ventilation at all times. The ceiling fan provides extra air movement when it's hot or the air conditioner can be used of a day time. At night the air conditioner compressor unit is a bit noisy up in our living area and for the neighbours, so unless it's a very hot night, so we'd ask you to use it sparingly (see Rules).
We now also have a folding arm awning over the patio area for adjustable shade in summer. The granite patio has table and chairs to enjoy breakfast, read a book or just the enjoy the view and breezes. The manicured lawn and gardens enhance the experience.
Parking is in the driveway or the garage by arrangement.
We can be accessed for assistance via the intercom in the apartment or at our front door round the side of the house. We live above and will endeavour to keep our noise to a minimum for your comfort and give you as much privacy as we can.

The ground floor independent studio apartment is accessed by your key. The garage with gym & sporting equipment is accessible on request via your remote door control.
The upstairs area and back yard is our home and not open to guests and is accessed by separate entry.
Guests who are staying for some days may be able to access the laundry by arrangement.

We will leave you to be on your own as much as you like, but will be available if you need assistance or a chat about the area and will try to help if we can. There's an information folder in the apartment as well with Things to Do. Please let us know if you'd like to use some of our equipment i.e. bicycles, fishing lines, gym stuff, picnic gear or golf clubs.
Otros aspectos destacables
There is a new house build that started in early June. Please feel free to contact me before booking to check on likely impact to you. Building regulations require them not to start till after 6:30 on weekdays and they may work some Saturday mornings. Thus far there hasn't been a lot of noise. The view won't be affected, nor the peace of an evening, night and early morning. Your parking is also assured. I will also apply a discount for multi-day stays during the building period and offer special rates of 3 nights or more, so just ask! The weekly discount is automatic.
We do have dogs but they are kept upstairs and in the back yard unless you want to meet them.
Our co-host will be our 25 year old son Daniel and his partner Carly for when we are away. They'll make sure everything is ready, greet you and generally provide the same level of service as Cathy has become known for. They will just be a phone call away instead of intercom!
Quiet time after 10pm and before 7am please. Please remember that this is our home and in a very quiet neigbourhood.
The floors are natural polished marble and are easily scratched by grit and also etched by acids leaving a permanently dull patch. Don't be concerned about normal use as it's very forgiving and non-slip. Promptly absorbing spills of acid liquids with paper towel or cloth is requested and marble safe cleaners are under the kitchen sink for anything more sticky. The marble is sealed so the liquid should sit on top for a while. Please wipe sand off before entering and beach towels can be hung on the outside steps up the side of the apartment to dry.
