Dear Lynda Thank you for your feedback. I was rather surprised to read this considering when my full time cleaner met your husband on leaving the property he noted that they had a wonderful time at our home and that he wanted to write to me personally to thank us.
However, to read your review is important and I do like feedback to make staying at our house enjoyable.
We have a full time housekeeper who, the week before you arrived was on her holidays, Therefore, I employed a local cleaning company to give the apartment a 4 hour clean before your arrival. The cleaners were instructed to make all beds in the two rooms, even though you requested only one room. The clean was for dusting, cleaning floors, the oven, fridge, bathrooms top to bottom. All wooden floors and hoovering. I did not ask to dust the paintings or the bookshelves-next time we will.
However, in response to your notes, I will check on the company for the cleaner who carried this out and will make sure you get a refund for your clean, of approx £30. We apologise for this.
With regards to the storage on the landing, we do keep personal items here as we are not a business, this is a family home, in the true spirit of Airbnb.
The reference for assistance from a friend was incorrect. The contact information given was myself, my husband and one of my employees who has worked with me for 14 years. My offices are around the corner and as I was away, this would make an emergency response possible. I gather two lightbulbs in the flat were not working and one in the communal hallway. My team member fixed this first thing the next day.
For reference, in the history us working with Airbnb I haven't needed her assistance.
I did assure you that I was here if there was any problems, furthermore, if I had known the flat was not clean enough I would have sent a cleaner over immediately, however you did not notify me.
I did get some calls from you however with regards to the 'new guests' that were not on the original request that they couldn't work the TV presser. I and my husband received three calls regarding this and it turned out you managed to do it yourself by pressing the buttons a little harder.
Whilst digesting this review, we are sad to hear your notes and I suppose it would have been worthwhile letting me know your concerns for us to assist.
