CENTRALLY located, eco-friendly cottage serves as a cozy, clean retreat in the heart of the edgy River Arts District (RAD). New Belgium's tasting room and daily food truck across the street and countless restaurants and bars within walking distance. Private gardens and back porch serve as a retreat from it all.

El alojamiento

Eco-tourism in the heart of Asheville's River Arts District! This is a custom, newly built home decorated with a mix of industrial and antique pieces. The compact cottage has 'green' features like on demand water heating, highly efficient air and heating system, rain barrels, composting, gardens, and no VOC interior paints. The space is small but comfortable, utilizing all square footage in order to reduce the house's carbon footprint. Right across the street is the new New Belgium Brewery, tasting room and green pavilion. There is generally live music playing there on the weekends (don't worry, it ends at 8 pm), along with yard games, river views, great beer and amazing food trucks.

Aubrey was very communicative with us when she wasn't able to meet in person, we got into the house no problem. The space was truly lovely- it was like staying in our own tiny house. The house was super well-appointed, and the bed was comfortable as well. You could really tell that Aubrey put a lot of heart into outfitting the place- from her book collection to the artwork and plants, everything was extremely cozy! You can't beat the location either- New Belgium is DIRECTLY across the street and it's only a short walk to shops and restaurants by the river. We'll definitely be staying here again the next time we come to Asheville, and we've already recommended this place to friends who are looking to visit!

Our stay in Asheville at Aubrey's cottage was awesome! She was in touch with us on numerous occasions and made herself available at any time should we need anything. The cottage is lovely and comfortable and the porch and fire pit are such a nice bonus! The fact that it's located across from one of Avl's newest breweries ain't too bad either!!! You're also located ideally between downtown and West Asheville so you get the best of both worlds. The River Arts District literally only a stone's throw across the bridge and touring all the studios never gets old. On our side of the bridge you get to experience all that West Asheville has to offer including the ABSOLUTE BEST DOUGHNUTS you'll ever have just around the corner and a little 5 minute walk up the hill. All in all, I think it's safe to say that we would most definitely come back to stay there again, no doubt.

My fiancé and I took our first trip to Asheville to see if it was a place we would want to live in the future. Aubrey's house was the perfect location to feel like we were home! It was just what we were looking for to enjoy a 4-day weekend. The outside is incredibly charming and great for those who want to reconnect with nature. The inside radiates her down to earth and peaceful/lovely soul amongst her books and beautiful space. It was a wonderful place to return to after spending the day exploring the town. Thank you again for everything Aubrey!

This is one of those places that I kind of want to keep to myself for the next time we want to come to Asheville, because I really have a hard time envisioning a more perfect spot to stay to enjoy everything Asheville has to offer. Aubrey's cottage is genuinely a home away from home, and it's location in the River Arts District make it IDEAL for exploring the RAD, west Asheville and downtown. You're also a hop away from the highway if you're looking to head up the mountains, or over to Sierra Nevada (which you need to do). I'm sure it's been said, but I mean it's right across the street from New Belgium, which has an amazing facility and tasting room. We walked all over River Arts, enjoying the spots she recommended. We walked up the hill to the Donut shop (still can't stop thinking about those donuts). We walked into downtown one evening to enojy food and breweries over there. If you don't want to walk, you're a $5 uber ride away from whatever you want to do. I'm seriously depressed to be back at work after such an amazing stay. If you're wanting to visit Asheville, this is your spot to stay. I've stayed in Hotel Indigo a couple of times in the past, and I wouldn't think of going that route again, with a spot like this available. Thanks again, Aubrey!

Aubrey's place was great, perfect for our stay in Asheville. Quick access to freeways, walkable to downtown (a little over a mile), and right near the River Arts District. Didn't make it there, but the New Belgium brewery is right across the street.

The house was squeaky clean and welcoming when we arrived. It was fully stocked with all the kitchen items, linens, and everything else that we needed. Location was very convenient to all the activities we had planned (river float, dining downtown, brewery visits, bike rides, etc.)

I offer recommendations to guests about Asheville activities, eats and drinks. I'm especially savvy in yoga, food and beer recommendations.

Acerca de Aubrey

I am in love with Asheville and all it has to offer. I've lived here almost 13 years now and can't get enough of the food, beer, yoga, outdoor activities (recently fell in love with tubing down the New French Broad River), and amazingly friendly people. I am a social worker, yoga teacher, sustainability advocate, avid traveler, and compassionate friend, daughter, and sister.
