This listing is for one bed in a four-person room. This home operates like a hostel. There are three bedrooms, two rooms that sleep four people each, and a private double. There are two shared bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and large back yard. The house is a ten-minute walk from the West Oakland BART station which is just one stop (around 8 minutes) from downtown San Francisco. It is also a quick BART ride to downtown Oakland and the nightlife there.
We started this Airbnb to emulate the hostels found in most of the rest of the world -- inexpensive with few frills, but providing the opportunity to meet fellow travelers from around the world and explore together.
Every bed has a shelf, hook, reading lamp, and locker. You can choose any open bed when you arrive. The downstairs bedroom has twin-sized two bunk beds; the upstairs bedroom (all the way to the left at the top of the stairs) has two twin beds and one full-sized bunk bed.
Please note that this is a shared room, there there will most likely be other people occupying the room. We do not discriminate. There may be people of different sex/race/age/nationality in the same room. NOTE: We are unable to arrange single-sex rooms, so if you are uncomfortable sleeping in a room with guests of the opposite sex, you should not book with us.

Atención a los huéspedes
We are sometimes on-site and always reachable by phone in case of problem. We're very open to the idea of hosting communal meals and arranging outings to a variety of regular events in Oakland (bike party, art walk, food truck rally at the museum).
Shad and I love staying at hostels when we travel; not only because they're inexpensive but because they provide such a great opportunity to meet and learn from other travellers. That's how the dream of building something similar in the Bay Area came to be and we hope to see this space filled with faces from all around the world!
