We were there for 5 nights - a couple, 2 kids, and a friend - and it worked out well. Totally recommended. The location is fabulous. Come out the front door, turn right then left, you're in sight of the beach (and the very decent surf-club bistro). Right then right, you're on your way to the marina and excellent Hemingway's brewpub. Turn left and you're a block from Macrossan Street, Port Douglas' main drag, where you can get anything you want, and on Sunday there’s a very good public market down at the other end. All-hours convenience store is less than 5 minutes walk, handy when you run out of butter at breakfast. Problems? Nobody would call it a romantic architectural triumph - many of the lighting fixtures are old-school fluorescent featuring dead flies, and the indoor/outdoor room is a corrugated-iron garage (but spacious and with a nice round lazy-susan table). Also dodgy WiFi, but the Optus cellular data was robust. Anyhow, the place is clean and comfy and well-ventilated, and the swimming pool is great to amuse kids and to cool off in with a G&T. Didn’t have any problems so can’t report on host responsiveness, but check-in/out were smooth, fast, and friendly.

The Beach House was the perfect central location to the shops, restaurants and beach of Port Douglas. Everything was clean, check in and out was very easy. Overall a great stay.

We had a great time at the beach house. It was the perfect size for our big family. We enjoyed using the BBQ and sitting by the pool. It was surprisingly very quiet, set back from the road. It is very secure for toddlers with the whole house and the pool completely fenced in. I'd recommend staying here if you want lots of space and a central location. Lillian was lovely to deal with and the house was clean and tidy.

SOOOOO convenient a location in Port Douglas. Lots of room both indoors and in converted garage (GREAT space!)

This house is great for groups--nice bedrooms. The outdoor areas are really great too. Loved the pool! Overall the house is super comfortable and close to everything! We'll be back again.

The Beach House is a family owned and operated business. My husband and I have lived in Port Douglas for 33 years...cannot believe it...time flies!!!
Our son Bernard works with us. We all enjoy meeting new people and making them feel at home.
