Wonderful old farmhouse with barn available monthly, weekly, or daily, in a gorgeous green setting sheltered by a huge oak. We're in a lobster fishing village, with a five minute walk to back cove, or the harbor, and a 10 minute walk to the ocean. A lovely local sandy beach is only four minutes by car. Lounge on the front porch, or the back deck, where we have a planter filled with fresh herbs. There are three bedrooms, two upstairs and one down, as well as a sleeper sofa in the living room, and one bathroom with shower. Easy access to: swimming either at the public beach or local swimming hole, Pemaquid lighthouse, historic Colonial Pemaquid fort and museum, several harbors, local grocery store, and Shaw's lobster wharf, as well as other restaurants, such as The Cupboard Cafe with its fabulous blueberry pancakes or homemade cinnamon rolls. We're also close to the Hardy Boat ferry to Monhegan. Damariscotta, with its variety of shops, restaurants (including a lovely new Thai spot), a terrific book store and local library, and a wonderful old theatre is only a 15-20 minute drive. Bike available. Parking on site. No phone, internet, or cable, as this is a place to relax. But if you need it, there's wi-fi available at local cafes as well as free wi-fi at the local library.

Only non-smokers, please.

We are in New Harbor, on the Pemaquid Peninsula, about a 1.5 hour drive north of Portland and approximately 45 minutes from Camden.

You'll have full access to the whole house.

We provide a detailed guide to the house and area, but we try to check for messages and email frequently; we want your stay to be as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.

We are located in a lobster fishing village, a five minute walk to Back Cove as well as a short walk to the Atlantic Ocean. Great area to walk or bike in. Plus you can rent kayaks in the area from Maine Kayaks.

There is no public transportation - you will need a car for this area. We're about a 1.5 hour drive north of Portland (15-20 minute drive out the Pemaquid peninsula from Damariscotta). You can park in the driveway at our house.

Just a reminder that there is no phone, internet, or cable, as this is a place to relax. If you need it, there's wi-fi available at local cafes as well as at the local library.

Like everything else in the New Harbor area, Jane's home was quaint and lovely. Jane made everything go so smoothly. Very friendly and helpful. Guidebooks and suggestions were great. If you're looking for a luxury home, this isn't it. It is a rustic, beautiful old farm home with some eccentricities and a lot of charm. No cell service or wifi. We loved sipping coffee on the back patio that overlooks a beautiful backyard. Great location in New Harbor.

We had a fantastic time staying at Jane & Lynn's place in New Harbor. Wonderful back deck, wonderful walks to the ocean, wonderful opportunities to explore small town Maine! The house is conveniently located on a quiet street where our kids felt safe playing and scootering. The house itself is in good shape, but some of the fixtures could be updated. We loved all the wonderful reading material and our kids loved the Calvin & Hobbs comic books! We'd love to come back.

Very easy, smooth transaction. Jane provided instructions for getting into the house as well as a local contact in case i needed any help. The house itself was perfect; an old Maine farmhouse with a large lawn surrounded by trees and native plants. It's filled with wonderful books and the kitchen is one of the best-stocked I've ever come across in years of rentingIt's close to all the Pemaquid area cottages in Maine. Also, lots of fans and window AC units of you need them. Close to all Pemaquid attractions, including CE Reilly's grocery, and the welcome letter will describe a couple paths to the water you wouldn't find on your own. We will definitely be back!

The old farmhouse was spacious and quaint and well supplied with everything we needed for our stay. There was no TV, or internet, as listed, but there was reading material & games, local attractions to keep you busy. These were identified in a welcome package. Breakfast on the patio was pleasant. Overall we enjoyed our stay in New Harbor. There was lots to do and the area was lovely.

This farmhouse is a cute old place in a fabulous location. The place is a little bit rundown but still super charming. If you don't worry about the eccentricities of an old home, then no worries. There's a nice short walk to Back Cove nearby, and it''s walking distance to the harbor, bakery, ice cream, and grocery. Overall, we had a great time here.

My husband and I love books, music, and the arts in general. We also love to hike, cook, and travel and we've recently begun to explore sailing and kayaking. We welcome guests during the summer when we are there or to rent the entire house monthly, weekly, or daily when we're not. Our style is creative, and informal; we love to get to know others and share this lovely little corner of Maine with you. We've also been guests in many places as well. We look forward to hearing from you.
