Tranquil, private, setting amid stately Ohia trees with partial ocean views. The custom studio is 500sf with a limited height loft and large gorgeous bathroom and deck. Off grid with installed hi speed WiFi & cell booster.

The Studio is newly remodeled with a handsome central Ohia post and Silver Oak trim throughout. All the trim wood came from the property. The main sleeping space is a 10' X 10' loft space with sloping limited height ceiling. Downstair we have two couches, one opens into a comfortable queen size bed as need. There is a spacious, custom tiled bathroom and a covered deck to enjoy a sunny breakfast outdoors with views of the pasture, Ohia trees and the distant ocean. For entertainment we have a medium size TV and a good supply of DVD's. The sound system is bluetooth accessible for a wireless connection to the music on your phone, lap top or pad. A cell phone booster in the Studio allows connection to the outside world, as needed.

Guests have access to Honokaa town filled with Hawaiian artifacts, the famous Waipio Valley, Hilo Town and the famous Waimea town with its two Saturday markets and the best Island restaurants. The road to the top of Mauna Kea is not far. World class beaches of the Kohala coast are 45 minutes away and America's most visited attraction, the Volcano National Park, is a one hour drive, that's if you don't spend an hour first, in old Hilo town.

Only on an "as needed" basis. Baki lives in the yurt on the same property but is often at work or staying with Bailey in Puako. We will make contact with you before your arrival to give you directions and hopefully we will get a chance to meet you at the property at some point during your stay. Other important information for your stay is in the studio in a binder. Off grid living is the best!! We are always available by text or phone should you have any questions or problems.

As quoted from the recently published: "My Year in A Yurt: It was this studio we stayed in. We absolutely loved the place, the lush grass-coverd rolling hills, the stately Ohia trees dotting the land, the ocean in the distance. It was so peaceful, so quiet, so healing."
Yes, you are far from the urban madding crowd in a peaceful, quiet and rural location. We are surrounded by green; green grass, green trees, and green plants everywhere with wild turkeys and the occasional wild pig running madly across the pasture. Nights are clear and stars are blinding. Rain is possible but more likely are 15 knot trade winds which keep the air clear and fresh at a cool 1800' elevation. Our place is an ideal location from which to explore all parts of the Big Island. However, it is a minimum 20 minute drive to the nearest town of any size, (Honokaa town) and 45 minutes to the best gold coast white sand beaches.

You will need your own car. Some limited public transportation, Heleon Bus service, is available at the bottom of the road to Hilo and Kona towns. Bike rentals are available in Honokaa.

You may find that on occasion a local rancher will drive down the road to water his cows in the acreage below our place. Also the neighbor dogs love to come visit our guests and you may see wild turkeys perched in the trees. General Excise Tax number available if requested

Secluded and peaceful, Baki and Bailey's place is a gem. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay on the north side of the Big Island! They were truly great hosts! The studio was comfortable and clean with abundant wildlife right outside the door.

Had a wonderful stay. Upon arriving we found all kind of goodies prepared for us. Fruit, coffee, chocolate and some wonderful muffins. The grounds are beautiful and very quiet. We would be greated daily by wild turkeys and chickens. We highly recommend staying here.

The place from Baki&Bailey is wonderful and peaceful. We enjoyed our time there a lot. Baki&Bailey are so friendly and explained us all very well. A special thank to all the food we got in this well equipped kitchen. It's all very clean&comfy, the Wifi sometimes a little bit slow... but if you are out in this beautiful place, it doesn't really matter. You definitly need a car to get there and visit all the beautiful places around. It's well located to visit the VNP, Waimea&Hilo, Waipio Valley, Mauna Kea and the beautiful beaches on North Kona. We would definitly come back here, thanks for sharing this place with us!

Everything was Great!! Very compfortable and clean house! In the middle of nowhere.... our neighbours: wild turkeys, a tiny, extreme friendly dog, a curiosity rooster, wild pigs...... Baki was very pleasant, helpful unobtrusive. The description at Airbnb was totally correct! Love that Place.

Such a lovely space in which to pretend you're a local! We loved the overall look of the place and the tranquility of its location. Our stay was the perfect dose of relaxation in our very packed schedule! We enjoyed starting our days with a hot cup of kona coffee and the cocka-doodle-dooing of our rooster neighbor. And coming in for the night to a kitchen where we could whip up something fresh while relaxing and watching movies was the perfect end to each of our days. The bed was super comfy and exactly what we needed after our brutal hikes. Overall we could not have chosen a cozier spot for our temporary Hawaii home. Our only regret is that we didn't book for an extra night under the stars and one more morning of waking up to the birds!

Bailey and baki's place was a very quaint tranquil cottage. It was perfect during our busy stay on the big island. It is very far from the main road with the cows and roosters, but the birds' music and nature surroundings were beyond relaxing! The cottage had everything we needed, even visits from the neighbouring friendly dogs. Thank you baki- it was great meeting you and thank you for sharing this piece of pradise.
