This is an Executive Rental and will be rented monthly. Urban Homestead is close to Downtown Durango, Santa Rita Park, Durango Natural Foods Co-Op, Durango Silverton Train Station, Restaurants, Shopping, Hiking and Biking Trails, the River Trail. You’ll love my place because of the huge yard, the quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds, original art, and a complete kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
This is an Executive Rental and will be rented monthly, with the exception of when friends and family stay.
Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Durango, Urban Homestead is situated on a huge garden lot. Almost .2 acres in Historic Downtown Durango and only 5 Blocks to walk to Downtown Main Avenue. This is truly like a little farm in Downtown Durango.
My mother, a master gardener, had a vision of transforming this adorable bungalow style house, and already fruitful yard, into an Urban Homestead. This property especially lends itself to families with children and family pets because of the huge yard and garden. Come have a "whole vacation" in Durango from the comfort of a home at the Urban Homestead!
The House: This 1200 SF house has 2 bedrooms, and one full bath. The house sleeps 4; there is a queen bed in the master bedroom, and two twin beds in the upstairs bedroom. Tempur Pedic style mattresses are new, and super comfortable, complete with beautiful linens. The tile bathroom has a bathtub/ shower and has everything you need; towels, shampoo, hair dryer... etc. There is a small office, an old roll top desk stocked with writing supplies and plug in for your lap top computer. The upstairs dormer we turned into a play area for kids complete with dress up clothes, books, games, and a beanbag. The kitchen is recently remodeled with maple cabinets and a Bosch dishwasher, water filter, and large refrigerator with icemaker. The cook will appreciate the complete kitchen equipped with everything you need to make a gourmet meal; from the good pans and quality knives to cloth napkins, blender, etc. The round dinning room table seats four, but the best place to eat is outside in the back yard…
The Yard: Sit in the shade of the four mature apricot trees surrounding the back yard. Teak outdoor dining furniture and a gas BBQ make this a yard you will want to spend the afternoons reading, cooking, playing and dinning in. The yard in completely surrounded by privacy fencing & walls and is very quiet and private. There is a vegetable garden complete with strawberry patch, fruit trees, and flowerbeds. The yard is safe for a dog but we do ask you do not let your dog dig up any of the plants.
The Location: Urban Homestead is only 10 minutes walk from the Train Station, Durango Natural Foods Co-op (my favorite grocery!), Telegraph / Horse Gulch trailhead, and Main Avenue downtown Durango. One quarter block away is a branch of the River Trail leading to Santa Rita Park and the whole river trail; perfect for easy walks and riding your bike all through town. You can easily walk to any of the local downtown restaurants for dinner. The neighborhood on 1st street is very quiet. Being the last street in town it gets hardly any traffic and is generally quiet at night. So go ahead and walk downtown in your pajamas for coffee!
Come stay at our Urban Oasis and pamper yourself while you enjoy Downtown Durango from the comfort of a Home!

We are a family with two little boys, currently 6 and 1. We have 6 vacation houses of our own in Durango, so we do know how to be a good guest;-) Traveling and meeting new people is part of my plan for educating my boys in the ways of a good life. We live on a farm outside Durango and enjoy our horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. Oh yes, and we love food. I guess my motto is to be good to other people even if it is occationally hard. It is always worth it to take the high road. Cheesy right? But it helps me sleep at night.
