We're 7 minutes off State highway 1, and 20 minutes north of Okaihau and 45 minutes south of Kaitaia. It would be a good base for exploring the far north. Upstairs is a large room with kingsize bed, couch, armchairs, lazyboy chair, and chest of draws. The room has french doors that open onto a balcony with a view of Orira river. Downstairs is 1 double bedroom.

Kitchen, separate toilet and bathroom downstairs. BBQ, outdoor living spaces.

El espacio
We're on the Orira river that feeds into Hokianga harbour, and have a jetty you can swim off at high tide or fish off. It's secluded, private and peaceful. We're a day trip away from numerous east and west coast fabulous beaches. The house is over hundred years old and has some unusual features. There's plenty of out door living spaces, with porches back and front of the house. We've got chickens and we have 3 dogs . We try to grow all our own vegetables, and are in the process of planting heaps of fruit trees. We're down a no exit road so there's hardly any traffic, apart from fonterra milk trucks going to the farm next door.

Servicios y zonas comunes
The downstairs toilet and bathroom are separate. There's a BBQ available.

Otros aspectos destacables
We're on a gravel no exit road. We get the post delivered Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It's ten minutes drive north to the Mungamuka diary or 20 minutes drive south to Okaihau. Okaihau has a cafe, diary, 4 square, liquor store, gas station, butcher and hardware store. We usually do our grocery shopping in Kaikohe (35 minutes away) or Kerikeri (40 minutes away).

We're close to the cycle trail that goes from Okaihau to Horeke. It's 30 minutes drive to the Rawene ferry, and from there about 20 minutes to Opononi. The amazing Wairere Boulders are close by. Kaitaia is 45 minutes drive away. The Bay of Islands is about an hours drive from here.

I'm 56 years old and own a small lifestyle property. My passion is gardening and through that building a sustainable lifestyle. Another passion is using what I grow to make chutney's, relishes, pickles and jams. I also have chickens and dogs, and in time perhaps sheep or some other livestock. Because I live on a river that feeds into the Hokianga harbour fishing is available. The house is over a hundred years old and has some unique features, including a top story with a balcony that over looks the Orira river. The property is bounded on three sides by the Orira river and has a jetty.
