Contemporary light and airy home, elevated on stilts, with great views of the bush and a hefty ocean glimpse. secluded in 5 acres of virgin bush, but also close too all the great beaches, attractions and wineries of the Margaret River area, as well as Dunsborough, Yallingup and Margaret RIver towns.

Zamia House is a recently built (constructed 2011) elevated , north facing contemporary home with stunning views across Wyadup valley and an ocean view towards Canal Rocks. It is set almost equidistant between Dunsborough and Margaret River.

The stunning and pristine Injidup Beach is 2km away and only a four minute drive or 20 minute walk. The house is a 5-10 minute drive to Smiths Beach and a 10-15 minute drive to Yallingup Beach. The house is set on five acres of virgin bush and is central to all the wineries, restaurants and attractions of the Margaret River region. The home is very comfortable, light and bright, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one an ensuite), a large covered deck for sipping wine and enjoying the panoramic views, and open plan living.

The house sleeps a total of 8 in three bedrooms - there is a queen bed in the master bedroom with ensuite, a queen bed in the second bedroom, and 2 bunk beds (4 singles) in the third bedroom.

There is reverse cycle air conditioning in the open plan living/kitchen/dining for summer cooling and winter heating, ceiling fans in the two queen bedrooms and a portable fan in the bunk room. For winter warmth, the two queen beds have electric blankets and there are hot water bottles for the bunk beds. Both bathrooms have heat lamps. the bedrooms also have oil heaters for winter.

Why Zamia House? The house is named after the prehistoric Zamia palms which abound in the area.


For AirBNB customers we supply all linen except beach towels.

Note - you can reduce the cost of your stay if you are prepared to bring your own linen. Please message me to discuss.

Food - you will need to bring your own food. We advise you to stock up in Dunsborough on your way down from Perth.

Porta cot and high chair available. You must supply your own linen for the portacot.


We charge an AUD $550 security deposit which is held by AirBNB to ensure the house is well cared for.

Cancellations (for any reason): AirBNB's STRICT policy applies. However, we will always refund your entire fee if we manage to re-let the property (but cannot refund the AirBNB service fee).

Cleaning fee covers one only council bin of rubbish, and one only council bin of recyclables, both loosely filled. Excess rubbish and recyclables must be removed by tenants otherwise extra costs apply.

The house and surrounds are strictly non-smoking.

Sorry but we do not accept bookings for leavers or groups under 25 years or for house parties. Max 8 people can stay. Kids with adults over 25 years are welcome.

Sorry but we no longer accept pets, after a few too many mishaps.

Except by prior arrangement, check out is strictly 10.30am and check in is strictly 2.30pm. Where there is no change over, check in and check out times can be negotiated.

Our minimum stay policy can be negotiated for last minute bookings.


Zamia House is a 3 hour drive South of Perth. You will need a car to get around the area!

The fine Print – AirBNB
1.Zamia House is our holiday home. We ask that you treat Zamia House as you would your home. This also includes our neighbours who each have holiday homes either side of us. Although they are a fair distance away and are not always there, please respect them.
2.The water at Zamia House is precious rainwater from our tank. Please use it sparingly by keeping your showers short, not leaving water running when brushing your teeth, and flushing the toilet only when necessary!
3.Zamia House uses a septic system. You cannot flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets or bad things will happen!! Please dispose of sanitary items and nappies etc through the rubbish. We will charge you should a plumber be necessary to remove any blockage.
4.You cannot use Zamia House as a party venue! A maximum of 8 people (kids and adults) can stay. There will be a charge of $100 per extra person should you exceed the permitted number of people.
5.We are dog friendly however you will need to let us know if you are bringing a dog. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture under any circumstances. If you will be away during the day time you cannot leave your dog inside unsupervised, however you can leave it on the deck provided the sliding glass doors are closed. Please note the property is a five acre unfenced bush block.
6.We're strictly non-smoking inside. We're also strictly non-smoking outside, due to bush fire risk.
7.You must not do anything that is against the law whilst staying in Zamia House.
8.Your stay includes cleaning and rubbish removal at a mandatory extra cost, which extends ONLY to the bins provided, loosely filled. Anything excess to this YOU MUST TAKE AWAY YOURSELVES, or you will be charged for private waste removalists to collect the excess. Clients staying more than a few nights are strongly advised to dispose of rubbish and recycling during their stay to avoid build up. Rubbish must be placed in plastic bags provided (under the sink) and removed to the bin provided in the car port. Recycling (glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, tins) must be placed in the separate recycling bin. Rubbish and the recyclables must not be mixed.
9.Reasonable use of services (heat, light, power & water) is expected. Please turn off all lights & heating/cooling when leaving, including when you leave the house during the day.
Damage and loss
10.We do understand about minor accidental damage like a broken glass & normal wear and tear. However, if damage, loss, or excess cleaning of a value greater than $10 occurs during or as a result of your stay, you agree to reimburse us our costs from the security deposit.
11.To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss, injury or damage suffered by you while at Zamia House. However if you leave anything behind we'll let you know and organise a way to get it back to you.
In and Out
12.We're pretty flexible – if we don't have another booking on either side of yours then we are more than happy to try and accommodate your arrangements, subject to the commitments of our caretaker/ cleaner. If we do have a booking though, the times are strictly in after 2.30pm & out before 10.30am just so we can get the cleaning done properly.

You must leave the house in a tidy and clean state, with all dishes cleaned and packed away, benches etc wiped down and excess dirt and sand removed.
If things go wrong
13.If more guests stay than what you stated, if you bring a pet & don't let us know, if you or your friends smoke, if willful damage occurs, or any of our House rules are not followed then we reserve the right to enter Zamia House without notice, to terminate your stay & to charge you for any associated costs incurred.

Great clean comfortable house with a fantastic view. We've been here twice and we love it. The kids can safely roam in the garden and play on the trampoline. The location is great for proximity to everything but also for quiet escape. The well set up laundry was good for a long stay.

Spent a wonderful couple of days here. It was exactly like the photographs and description-cosy, clean and lots of style. The house also had a bbq grill and well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook up a storm!

Jani made us feel welcome and responded promptly to all our questions. The property was actually nicer than presented on the website. Great location overlooking the bush with glimpses of the ocean to the west. The property was very clean and well maintained.

Zamia House is absolutely fantastic!! The house is beautifully designed with amazing views and set in amazing location, super close to Yallinyup but far enough out to feel like you have the area to yourself. The house is completely decked out with everything that you need and I have to say that the beds are so comfortable, we all had a great sleep! Jani is very helpful and responsive and we are definitely be back, thanks so much :)

The Zamia House was our best stay by far in Margaret River. The house is lovely with delicate and beautiful furniture and was spotless!! The kitchen is full of appliances therefore you can cook and enjoy the barbecue and the view from the deck that is absolutely amazing. The house location is fantastic, close to everything but you have the feeling that you're actually alone as it's hidden in the bush. That was a shame that we have actually to go back to Perth! I strongly recommend this house and I will definitely book it again in the future.

Had a great stay here during our family holiday. Very modern, clean and bright. Loved the deck and BBQ every evening! 5 min drive to beautiful beach and many great wineries nearby. Will definitely stay here again!

I live in Perth, have 3 gorgeous girls, and work at a University. We built our holiday house in 2011 and love visiting it and the surrounding area.
