I loved having these guests here, they were very sweet and didn't seem to have any problem communicating with me, and seemed super happy the whole time, but I am a little frustrated by the review. It always breaks my heart when people don't tell me about a problem until I read it in the review as there is nothing I can do to fix it. For instance:
They asked about the DVD player the first night (it is a TV with a built in DVD player), I explained that the remote broke but could bring it over if they were okay with manually pushing the buttons but they said, "Don't worry about it, Love. If we need a TV on our honeymoon, we are doing something wrong!!! We have a portable DVD player ...." So I read that to mean that they didn't need it, as they already had one, and they never said another word. I am so sad that this was an issue as I could have easily remedied it.
If the internet wasn't working properly, we could have rebooted it and made efforts to boost it. They never reported this to me. We have 4 different internet systems on the property and we depend on it for our businesses, so getting internet should not be an issue. If it is, we need to know about it in order to fix it. We had a few power outages and that can mess it up requiring a reboot, but again, it wasn't brought to our attention.
They never mentioned being hot (it is in the 60's at night, but there was little wind while they were here) but if they had I could easily brought an additional fan. No one at 1100 ft elevation has air conditioning as it simply is not necessary. We all love open windows and the fresh air, but we are happy to provide additional fans.
I have a notice in the cottage book asking guests not to feed the chickens and roosters, because it keeps them near the houses....but these two loved the chickens and fed them......and then got fed up with them. I immediately provided earplugs and they said that made all the difference.
They also never mentioned the hot water being a problem...again, something we have to KNOW about in order to fix.
They also didn't mention that I offered alternate accommodations if they weren't comfortable and they declined moving.
We pride ourselves on our beautiful property and our service to our guests. We have been super hosts consecutively for several years. We WANT you to have a GREAT experience. However, we cannot assist you if you do not tell us what you need WHILE YOU ARE HERE!!!!
