The yurt is a very cozy little space and is beautiful inside with its traditional Mongolian hand-painted wood beams.

It is suitable for all seasons and is equipped with a small woodstove for heating. The yurt will be toasty and warm upon arrival.

The yurt is fully furnished with a double bed and futon, which can be used as a sitting area or additional bed option. There is also a small table with chairs and shelving for storage. A private outdoor compost toilet is situated right next to the yurt.

The yurt is equipped with basic kitchen necessities such as plates, cups, cutlery, pots and a kettle. There is a BBQ and outdoor fire pit for cooking and the woodstove inside the yurt is like a hot plate. We provide large jugs of water from our natural spring for drinking and washing.

Natural lighting comes from the 'tunnel' at the top of the yurt. However, it is a good idea to bring a lantern, flashlights or headlamps for additional lighting at night time.

Outdoors there is a large fire pit area and a screened in gazebo for the summer months.

We had a great time at the Mongolian Yurt. It was cozy, and unique, and secluded from other guests/any noise. There were a ton of different hikes to choose from, some which were challenging and others which were quite relaxing. Tzach and Jen were readily available to answer questions, and when we had trouble booking a tour in the area, Tzach made the calls and handled it for us. The wood sauna was a nice treat as well. Highly recommended!

Remote, clean yurt, very private, quite a few kilometres of trails (bring your mosquito repellent!), cold natural spring nearby for fresh water, refreshing lake nearby with free water toys (kayaks, canoes, tubes, etc), fire pit and an incredible view of the night sky. Only a 15 minute drive to Mattawa where you can pick up everything you'd need as well as dine out.

We loved staying at the Mongolian yurt. It was a new experience and a little more comfortable for someone not used to camping. Jennifer was a wonderful host - such a pleasant person to speak with, and her family is lovely. She has great advice on which hikes to take and how to make the best of all the activities available on the property. Just remember to bring the items Jennifer advises you to bring and that there is no phone service. It's a great visit for disconnecting from the world for a few days!

Excellent stay! Jennifer is a very passionate host and Nature's Harmony is outstanding. Great location. Within a 15min drive from town, but when you're at Nature's Harmony you feel like you're in the middle of the forest. Jennifer is a very friendly, kind and helpful host. The Yurt was very clean and everything is laid out nicely. We only had time to spend one night but we could have easily spent more time. The local area is a fascinating part of Ontario. I highly recommend the Yurt and I would definitely book again in the future!

Perfil de usuario de JenniferJennifer es Superhost.

Jen & Tzach Elnekave are the owners and hosts of Nature’s Harmony and we are the proud parents of three young children, Ella, Maya and Ethan.

Tzach is originally from Israel and Jen is a native Canadian. In 2002, we both left our home countries as independent travelers to tour the world for a year. But, fate had our paths cross on foreign sands. We met in a small seaside village in Cambodia and shared an immediate connection. This led to a long process of good byes, not knowing whether we would meet again, and the shuffling of travel plans to re-unite.

At the end of our travels, we both spent time together in each of our home countries. Despite the obstacles of independence, distance, cultures and religions – we crossed every hurdle and we were married in Israel on April 28th, 2006.

For both of us, the entire travel experience was a life changing one. We first left our home countries with nothing more than a backpack and an open mind. As individuals, we allowed the experience to guide us – with no restrictions and no time constraints. We experienced different cultures, religions, foods and learned about the history of each country. In these lesser developed countries, we often sensed an inner peace that we rarely encounter back home. The experience taught us both to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life.

This travel journey will always remain one of the greatest memories of our lives. But, what followed were some of the most challenging years to come. The experience changed us more than we would have ever imagined. We now wanted so much more out of life. We felt a need to make a difference in the world and to live a life that would inspire us.

We spent two hard years searching and struggling to find our purpose and meaning. In 2004, we came up with our business idea on a four hour road trip to North Bay. The idea itself encompassed everything for us. We wanted to live a green lifestyle. We wanted to create and share the type of environment that we enjoyed most while traveling. We wanted to continue to meet new people. We wanted to be close to nature. And most importantly, we wanted to make a difference – whether it is sharing our sustainable lifestyle or inspiring others to follow their dreams.

We were both so excited and full of inspiration. The first place that came to mind was Mattawa because it is one of the most beautiful, yet undiscovered places in Northern Ontario. However, it didn’t take long for fear to overshadow our dream. Slowly, the dream slipped away – it never left us, but it was buried deep inside.

In 2006, after a number of remarkable coincidences, the dream resurfaced. Tzach was starting to study Reiki and Jen decided to have her first session so that she could understand what he was studying. During this session, our vision was brought back to life. This time it was clear and all the fear was removed. That very same day, the listing for our place came out of no where. It felt like one of those rare opportunities that only comes once in a life time.

The next day, we went to see the place and as we slowed down to turn on to the dirt road leading to the house, there was a huge wooden sign with big, red, block letters that read, ‘No Regrets’. The message was a little too powerful to ignore and from the moment we stepped through the front doors, we both knew this was the place.

We are very grateful to be here and we look forward to sharing Nature’s Harmony with everyone who comes our way!
