Enjoy solitude at the end of the road! Hike and ski right from the door, with views to the Sawtooth mountains and old growth forest. There is a wood-fired sauna to help you relax, a large comfortable living room and full kitchen. Get away from it all and enjoy!

El alojamiento

The property sits in a valley all its own, at the end of the road. There are expansive views of snow-capped peaks, and not another house in sight! The nearest neighbor is two miles away. There are numerous majestic old-growth trees and lots of wildlife passing through. The main lodge is comfortably rustic, with log walls and pine panelling. There is radiant heat in the floor and a woodstove to keep it cozy in winter, and two covered porches for breezy sitting in summer. The wood-fired sauna is a great way to relax and unwind.

Servicios y zonas comunes

Guests have access to the living room and kitchen in the main lodge, along with the entire property of 160 acres, surrounded by Forest Service land. There is endless hiking with great views, in the winter there are several miles of groomed corduroy ski trails, and numerous sledding possibilities.

Atención a los huéspedes

We like to come over and say hello when guests arrive, and are available for help and to answer questions at any time, but other than that we like to leave people alone to have a sense of solitude, peace and quiet. Owner/caretakers live onsite in a separate building.

Otros aspectos destacables

There is cell phone service for Verizon and I think AT&T but not so great for other carriers. There is a land-line phone you can use for emergencies. There is wi-fi available, but no TV service, which we feel is a blessing!

This is an eco-retreat in the wilderness so environmental awareness is deeply appreciated. We are on solar power, we asks guests to be mindful of turning off lights when not in use, especially in winter or in cloudy weather. We are avid recyclers and provide bins for guests to help with that. No outdoor shoes allowed inside, with radiant heat floor it's quite comfortable but bring slippers if you want! Smoking allowed outside only, the porch is great for that.

We had a fantastic time at the cabin and absolutely loved the solitude the place offers. We also got lucky with the weather (forecast was rain) and were able to explore and hike around the property. We would definitely recommend it to someone who loves this type of solitude and nature. We also loved the fact that the host is very environmental conscious and that the cabin is off the grid. We enjoy being away from modern live and all technology but someone who heavily relies on their phone, etc. might have a difficult time as there was no cell phone reception, etc. We do hope to be able to come back sometime soon, maybe even in the winter. I am sure the place is very magical with snow on the ground.

Emma and Victor are so resourceful in what the out-of-doors experience could accomplish. Even though this was March and it's the 'in-between' winter and summer time, we had a wonderful time hiking/snow shoeing to Lookout Mt lookout. The lodge was wonderful and had all the things we needed for a comfy stay.

Emma was warm and very welcoming. We met Victor on our way out (he was out grooming and chopping wood, and we were playing) and he was warm and friendly. Their passion for the location was certainly understandable. We had a wonderful time. The lodge was warm and had all the amenities we could have hoped for. The weather was fantastic and we were so glad that we brought cross country and tele skis (for our next trip) and snow shoes. So much varied territory to entertain any outdoor enthusiast. The quiet. We are going to come back this winter for sure. All our friends should come as well!

My husband and I had a great time exploring the groomed trails with our snowshoes. Next time, we'll bring our skis so we can hike up and ski down some of the hills in the area. We arrived at 7:30 pm and they had the place warm with a fire in the huge hearth for us. I'd suggest 4x4 or AWD if you have it for driving up there in the winter. The roads are nicely plowed, but packed with snow. Make sure to bring all the food you need because it's a long drive back down to Twisp. The sauna is great. The beds are warm and comfortable. We were the only guests so I can't speak for privacy because we luxuriously had the whole big cabin to ourselves. We had a great time. Thank you!

Lindsay was a very prompt communicator throughout the planning and duration of my trip and we sorted out some scheduling. She greeted me upon arrival after giving me some time to orient and settle in and ensured I knew where things were and how they operated. She also gave me a few tips about what to do while I was in the area (aside from coming to visit Lake Chelan which was why I came) that ended up being fantastic: one a hike up to the Lookout Fire Tower that can be accessed from the lodge and meadow and the other a nearby segment of the PCT trails in the Cascades. I was blessed to have the entire lodge all to myself and I felt quiet and privacy throughout this five night stay. This is in the forest and somewhat off the grid, so one must expect critters and lesser communication services that accompany such grand natural setting. The area is very unique and I feel like this was a trip I won't forget. Thank you to Lindsay and her husband.

This was a really cool property and a great place, I think, to get married or have a family or friends getaway for a few days. The grounds are spectacular and remote, the lodging is well cared for and interesting, and the host are friendly. My trip coincided with huge wildfires across the whole Methow Valley so I don't imagine anyone would be able to replicate my experience.

Wow! Just wow! A hidden gem! One of the best getaways EVER! The lodge is incredible and comfortable. The land is amazing and the caretakers were wonderful and welcoming. We are already planning our return!

I moved here 14 years ago, and still love the view and the surrounding walks. I can't live without Nature! I also have 3 dogs that help me stay grounded and present. I love traveling and meeting and hosting other travelers. I check in with guests when they get here but like to give people their privacy so they can appreciate the silence and solitude in peace.
