We offer a quiet and respectful private bedroom with en-suite bathroom (with a shower). The space is small but very cozy. The unit is on the main floor, it is independent from all other units and is accessed through a common foyer. Our beautiful three story Historic Center Town Home is home to your hosts Rick and Rob, and their pooch Nuk, along with three sets of long term tenants in their rental units located in the basement, second floor and third floor of the house.

El espacio
We have a 115 year old historic home with original wood detailing, hand-painted chandelier and gorgeous stained glass windows. Heat for the home is hot water rads plus electric heat that you control for the winter and a window air conditioner for the summers. Sheets, pillows and towels are hotel grade for your comfort. Although there is no sitting area in your room, which fits a queen size bed, you have full access to the beautifully decorated front porch lounge area. Enjoy sitting and watching people in the park right across the street and bask in the aromatic delights of the front rose garden.
There is a small dresser and a night table to store your effects. There is no access to a kitchen but we provide you with a micro wave, Tassimo coffee maker, kettle and fridge plus a wine opener, glasses, bowls, plates, cutting board and cutlery. The Room faces the Museum of Nature and a wonderful Park where you can sit and enjoy the outdoors. There is a beautiful authentic wrought iron electric fireplace, with amber rock, that provides warm ambiance in your room.

Servicios y zonas comunes
Front porch and garden are readily available. Laundry is available upon request and requires us to let you into the basement.

Otros aspectos destacables
We have a dog - she is overly friendly and sits in our front living room window watching the world go by. She has no access to your room when not rented. The house also has mature tenants who leave for work M-F between 7 and 830. We are all respectful and quiet as we come and go.

My partner Rick and I live in a large Heritage home in Center Town, across from the Museum of Nature. We work full-time with the Government, with retirement in sight! Rick (Madore) is also an established artist with many of his original works hanging in our home. Please see his website under rickmadore dot ca. We purchased our home in the Fall of 2016 and are restoring brick by brick between our play time in the great outdoors of Ottawa, Gatineau Hills and the St Lawrence River Area to our South. Our home is inviting with a large established yard, front veranda and centered within walking distance to all the Capital has to offer including easy access to/from the Hwy 417. Restaurants & night life are only two blocks away on Elgin Street and Bank Street, along with grocery markets, liquor store, the Canal, Parks and Parliament Hill. Our beautiful Heritage home comes complete with the original wooden ceiling beams and trim details, a gorgeous original, hand-painted ceramic chandelier, very large single pane windows with original glass and stained glass windows in the spectacular original staircase in the hall. We rent a small, private 1 bedroom unit with en suite on the main level. There is a queen sized bed, fridge and Tassimo coffee maker. This room shares a common hall but is independent from other units. It is important to note that we live on the same level as the room we rent out and there are three other apartments in the house which we also rent to long-term, quiet and respectful tenants. The house is located on O'Connor street which is a two lane, one-way street leading to the 417. It is busiest during end of day traffic. We have had one review which mentioned the noise from traffic however, we would not consider this an overly noisy downtown street. Unfortunately, parking is not available on the property but there is a paid public lot just across the street and around the corner. Free street parking is available after 5:30 during the week and on weekends and holidays.
