This was a peaceful setting. However, you cannot lock your door.

Respuesta de Selene:
Sorry , we are a small private house , the front door is locked at night and when no one is home , which our guests have a key to . In ten years of hosting in Nelson we have never had an issue of problem guests , also we provide a lockable cupboard in your room.. Not one Air bnb accommodation that we used while travelling in USA , UK, Australia and Morrocco had private rooms locked . The doors are made from Native Timbers in 1865 and it would be sad to change their character.

Lovely place, great location. Selene and Shane were welcoming and available but unobtrusive. Felt really at home. Topaz room spacious - good for those staying longer. Shared balcony with views across Nelson. Excellent home cooked breakfast - well worth trying. All in all an excellent option.

Selene and Shane are among the loveliest hosts ever. They offered us great advice on places to visit and helped plan our itinerary They have a great home located on a small hillock at the end of town with lovely views of ocean and mountains of Abel Tasmen National Park. There's a lovely garden with beautiful flowers to sit and enjoy the views. The room is super tidy and clean and have all the amenities Would love to visit again

What a beautiful spot and house! Shane was very welcoming serving us with a cup of tea on arrival. It's lovely to have a welcome after travelling. We were very tired after kayaking for three days so the comfortable bed and immaculate room was a delight. We were able to keep food in a fridge provided so we could prepare lunch for the next day. Shane even allowed us to hang out our wet washing (fresh from the launderette in Stoke) on their own washing line and brought me airers so they could finish drying inside. Shane couldn't have been more helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here in this high class accommodation

I can't recommend Selene's place high enough. - The house: a lovely old villa with so much character, located on a hill with awesome view to downtown Nelson and the sea beyond. The garden looks to the West so guests can sit out with a cuppa to watch the sunset. We have our private toilet and access to guests' lounge with fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, microwave and TV. - The room: spacious, full of light and well equipped. The bed is very comfy. - The hosts: Selene and Shane are amazing hosts. We were welcome with tea and Shane kindly sat down with a map to show us the way around. We enjoyed their company but they also ensured we had our private space. They provide taxi service from the airport and around the town. We will definitely return.

Asked by air b&b if I have a motto? My family motto was live and let live, think thats pretty cool. We have one gorgeous cat Sophie who is spending her retirement with us!
