House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)
This serene three-bedroom Bay City vacation rental is the perfect retreat into nature. Relax by the outdoor fireplace and watch the sunset over the bay, or explore the rocky beach during low tide alongside the local wildlife including heron, geese, and gulls.
Placed right at the water's edge on Tillamook Bay, this home is about five miles north of the town of Tillamook. Enjoy cheese tasting or a delicious ice cream cone at the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory. Following the road around the bay will lead you to the Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge, Cape Meares State Park, and Cape Meares Lighthouse on the beautiful Three Capes Scenic Route.
You will feel right at home in this charming cabin with its bright and warm interior. Cozy rugs decorate the lovely hardwood floors and the wood-burning stove will keep everyone warm and toasty on the coldest of days. (Please note that you'll need to provide your own Duraflame logs.)
Curl up on your choice of the comfortable couch or two armchairs in the living room and settle in to watch your favorite show on the flatscreen TV with DirecTV, a Blu-ray player, and Netflix streaming video service. Although, you may be distracted by the gorgeous bay views outside the living room windows and opt to spend some time gazing out at the water instead!
The eat-in kitchen is gourmet-worthy with stainless steel appliances, beautiful countertops, and a colorful tile backsplash. You will have everything you need to prepare a holiday feast or a simple dinner, including a lovely view of the bay while you mix ingredients. A round wooden dining table seats four, but the nearby living room furniture ensures all your guests can enjoy meals together. When you've finished eating, let the dishwasher clean all the plates, glasses, and silverware while you relax in front of the fire with a glass of wine.
Guests looking for additional privacy will appreciate the bedroom downstairs with its beautiful wood-beamed ceiling, as it's the only bedroom on the main floor. It has an iron-framed queen bed, a brightly patterned quilt and a second flatscreen TV.
A second queen-sized bed is upstairs in the bright and airy main bedroom with windows overlooking the bay. The white slanted walls, leather and wood accents and colorful paisley bedding is a pleasant combination that ensures you will rest peacefully each night.
The third bedroom is an ideal room for children to share. It has a twin over full wooden bunk bed set with blue plaid bedding. This home also has two bathrooms and will sleep seven guests very comfortably.
Wireless internet access is available in this home as well as a washer and dryer, so rest assured you can enjoy all the comforts of home during your travels. Other amenities include a stereo, CD player, and sound dock.
Don't spend all your time indoors, as the outside of this home is also well equipped to provide you with entertainment! Sip a cup of coffee (prepared in the Keurig coffee maker - feel free to bring your own K-Cups) and read a book in one of the wooden chairs on the open front porch. In addition to the fireplace on the back deck, there is also a propane grill. In nice weather, bring your meals outside to fully appreciate the sights and sounds of the beautiful bay.
The large lot has plenty of parking for everyone and even boat parking! Spend the day out on the bay by boat, or if you don't have your sea legs, explore the beauty of Tillamook Bay from land. Tillamook Bay is world-famous for fall Chinook fishing. Salmon fishing starts in May and runs through December, with the peak run in the fall. Crabbing is also a popular activity on the bay.
If you choose to drive farther than Tillamook, you'll be greeted by the small coastal town of Oceanside and its picturesque sandy beach. Spend the day walking along the shore, hunting for shells, throwing a Frisbee, or just exploring. The salty air may intensify your appetite, so end your day trip with a late lunch or early dinner at Roseanna's Cafe in town for bowls of hearty clam chowder, sandwiches, home-baked pies, and even holiday meals with all the trimmings.
Quiet and endearing Bay City, located only 77 miles from Portland, provides visitors with the seclusion they need to unwind and relax... and there's no better place to put your feet up than at this alluring vacation cabin right on the bay.
