Harbour Village is a peaceful, friendly and safe place to be where residents are welcoming and helpful.
It was originally built around 1900 to house the workers building the railway and harbour. These days, the houses are all or mostly privately owned and lived in. Many of the residents have lived here for over fifty years.

There are some food shops, a Post Office, ATM, bars and restaurants at the bottom of the hill in Goodwick and there are many more a mile away in Fishguard which also has a Farmer's market on Saturdays where you can buy local produce. You can walk down the hill to Goodwick or catch a bus.

Large supermarkets and high street stores such as Marks & Spencer & Debenhams can be found in Haverfordwest, about 15 miles south. Cardigan with a variety of small shops and supermarkets is about 18 miles north.

With the coming of the railway, Goodwick beach quickly became a destination for day trippers and holiday makers from industrial towns in South Wales. In the past Goodwick had its own important industries - brickmaking and fishing.

These days it is mostly a residential and unspoilt tourist area, being on the edge of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Some small scale fishing still takes place, mostly from the pretty Lower Town harbour which can be seen looking right from bedroom 2, upstairs.

Goodwick Sands is where the defeated French invasion force assembled prior to surrendering on 24 February 1797. The last invasion treaty was signed in The Royal Oak tavern which is still open on Fishguard Square and a Last Invasion Tapestry can be viewed in the town hall opposite.

Just behind the houses on the opposite side of the street are three small Neolithic cromlechs which can be reached via a footpath near the entrance to Harbour Village.

At Goodwick Seafront the Ocean Lab has activities for children including exploring the beach as a habitat and recording sightings of flora and fauna. It also has a small aquarium. There is a café/restaurant there too.

Hello, I am Andrea, a native of North Pembrokeshire and welsh is my second language. Having spent thirty years working in different parts of England I'm now relearning forgottten welsh with a passion! My last twenty or so years were spent just outside London and although I loved it, Pembrokeshire and the irresistable call of the sea brought me home! It is wonderful to be rediscovering the beautiful places I've missed over the years. I love everything about living in this stunning coastal and countryside area especially watersports, beach and hill walking, reading, cycling, gardening and photography. The landscapes are always changing with the light and the weather so no scene is ever the same. We have gorgeous sunsets here too and plenty of dark skies away from streetlights for stargazing!
