Historic craftsman bungalow with twelve-foot ceilings, custom fire pit, jacuzzi tub, massive kitchen & custom dining room table, and huge front porch for taking in the hippest neighborhood in Atlanta!

Beautifully renovated craftsman bungalow just a block from Cabbagetown Park, one of downtown Atlanta's hidden treasures and home to one of the city's best festivals: Chomp 'n Stomp.

The home sits in the heart of Atlanta’s hippest neighborhood for artists and young families. The 1.600 square-foot house -- with twelve foot ceilings and heart of pine floors -- was built in the 1920s and renovated in 2008. It offers two ample bedrooms (with queen beds and their own baths), a large kitchen, a big backyard with custom fire pit and zoysia grass, and a sprawling front porch for taking in the always interesting scene on Kirkwood Avenue.

The open floor plan is ideal for dinner parties, and includes a loaded cook’s kitchen. Host a dinner gathering around the oversized farmhouse table crafted from 1930s boxcar wood, surrounded by Pella windows. In the warmer months, open the front and back doors to enjoy fresh air flowing through the house. In the winter, warm the place with the beautiful old fireplace. Barbecue year-round using the Weber charcoal grill in the private backyard, where a Japanese Maple and a dozen Rosemary bushes grow.

This is a special house, a refuge in the heart of Atlanta located within walking distance of a half dozen bars (Carroll Street Cafe, Krog Bar, Harper Station), great restaurants (Agave, Little Tart, Rathbun Steakhouse, Gunshow) a small grocery store (Little's), three parks (including Grant Park), and Atlanta's zoo. Turner Field (where the Braves play) and Phillips arena (where the Hawks play) are a short bike ride away. MARTA -- the local train system -- is about 3/4 of a mile from the house. I can occasionally give rides.

-Cook’s kitchen with high quality oven and stove, dishwasher, pots and pans, toaster, Keurig coffeemaker, orange juicer, hefty utensils, etc.

Other notes:

-This is my primary residence. Please treat my house as you would your own. I won’t be on the property during your stay except to hand over the keys and say hello.
-Dinner gatherings are welcome, but no parties, please.
-No smoking anywhere on the property, please.

Everything in the house.

Minimal, at most. Just upon arrival, usually, and perhaps again upon departure.

Hippest 'hood in Atlanta, home to artists, writers, musicians and endearing old eccentrics alike.

MARTA is about a ten minute walk away. Uber is easy to use here, too.

Unless otherwise agreed upon, check-in is after 4 pm, and check-out is by 11:30am.

The house is great. Charles and Maria were very accommodating, beds were comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. Location is very central to the cool east side and downtown.

We loved our stay at Charles's place. Everything was clean, spacious and beautiful. We traveled with an 18-month-old and 4-year-old and the house was perfect for their needs, with two parks and a pastry shop an easy walk away. The house was big enough we could relax without worrying about waking them, and the yard worked well for our dog. The kitchen also allowed us to save money on eating out. We'd definitely stay here again on future trips to Atlanta.

Charles was a great communicator. This is our second stay in his house. It is fabulous. Comfortable and beautifully decorated. A wonderful environment for our Thanksgiving gathering and weekend.

Our family of 3 adults and a preschooler enjoyed our visit. The home met all our needs for the 4 day stay. It was clean, quiet, comfy, and in a great location close to our daughter and activities in the community. The kitchen was well appointed, beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean, the dining area was big enough for all of us and the backyard was great for our grandson and some friends. Charles was very easy to work with and he checked in with us over the span of our trip to make sure things were ok for us during our stay.

Very nice home in a neighborhood reminiscent of East Nashville. Rides via Lyft only ran about $6 to the Peachtree Street area. We were in town for Dragon*Con so were gone most of the time, but I wish we'd had more time to just hang out and enjoy the space, especially the back yard :) Charles was a great host, very communicative and responsive.
