Antonin was a great host and is a great person generally.
he was also very nice and did his best to make my stay easier.
he also gave me blankets, house shoes, shampoo and washing liquid.
I would totally recommend staying in Antonin's place if you're planning a short-term visit in prague.
However, I have to add some challenges that I had:
the first is that the apartment is in the "entire home\apartment" section, which is not the case. this is some kind of apartment unit with a kitchen, toilets and shower- but it's not a home or an apartment. it's a room in the second floor of Antonin and his mothers' house, and there is no seperate entrance, so you have to enter antonin's home first and then take the staircase upstairs to the apartment unit, which is actually a room in Antonin's house. Therefore I think that the place is over-priced and should be described as a "private room with kitchen, shower etc."
when I booked the place I was looking for an "entire home\apartment" and was expecting some level of privacy and ability to feel that this is my home for the next 4 weeks, but because it's actually a room and not an apartment- there were several challenges with that.
Antonin's mother room is located near the room that I was in, so any small noise that I did was heard by her, like opening doors or shelves etc. I booked "entire home\apartment" for a reason, but in my stay I felt more like I'm in a private room in someone else apartment.
secondly, it was very difficult to communicate with Antonin's mother, as she speaks only czech, and even when I tried explaining her that I don't speak Czech- she continued speaking czech with me.
one time she entered and complained that I'm doing too much laundry and using the light and heating too much- a peculiar claim, if you take into account the huge amounts of money that I paid for staying there 4 weeks, and that I could have paid much less for a real entire apartment of my own with seperate entrance. I think that after the over-priced amount I paid, it's not fair fo enter my place, moving there freely as if it's stilly part of your house and not a flat the you rented to someone for a lot of money, starting to turn off lights and complaining I use too much electricty. it certainly didn't help me feel like I'm in my own home that I paid for a lot of money.
I really think Antonin is a great guy and the apartment is suitable for people who come for short-term stays.
for me who came for a 4 weeks stay and looked for a very specific environment of a private apartment- it was not suitable.
