The apartment is actually very clean. But it is small and storage space is limited. The clutter recent guests speak of is tools, groceries and fresh laundry that have not yet found storage space. The house is old and some areas need renovation, but everything is clean, safe and functional. My cleaning standards often (probably always) exceeds those of my guests.
I need to eliminate some of the clutter of tools and item, but for some reason, though I have slowly improved in this area, complaints have increased, which is something I can't really explain. The bedroom is fairly roomy with four surfaces for eating, writing, placing objects, etc. In addition, I provide small common spaces to sit, read, eat, watch television, sit out on the back deck.
There is definitely an eastern sea breeze that almost constantly cools the room. In the winter, the room heats up quite well. As summer approaches this will not be an issue. I like lots of fresh breeze ventilation and usually open up the windows. But if the breeze gets too strong please make sure windows are shut to your liking. I will turn up the heat (usually not necessary after May 1). The area is generally safe, but I cannot deny how women travelling alone feel unsafe. Do not hesitate to tell me any problems you might be having with anyone in area. I will deal with it in an appropriate way. I am also generally available to escort you to and from say the subway. But, for most women here, it has not been an issue I'm aware of.
Anyway, I enjoyed Brooke's stay here. She is a great photographer and took many photos of my kittens. Note: one of my two cats got loose in February and was impregnated by a feral male. She had four kittens on April 13. I will let her raise her kittens for at least another month, before I decide what to do with them. For now, the kittens stay in my room. I let them run around at specific times and will make them available to play with if you love kittens, and who doesn't.
