A cozy, well-loved private apartment in beautiful historic Greenpoint. Great restaurants, coffee spots, bars, boutiques abound. 1 block from waterfront park with stunning views of Manhattan. Easy access to subway, ferry, busses.
Whether you’re hoping to explore New York on vacation, or coming to the city for work, our place is a perfect base to relax and regenerate. Located in the charming, laid-back neighborhood of historic Greenpoint—in a newly renovated building—you are a stone’s throw from the East River and Transmitter Park on the waterfront, which offers stunning views of Manhattan. The Greenpoint Avenue G train stop is only a block away, with quick connections to Manhattan (20-25 min. to Union Square). Williamsburg and the L Train is a 15-20 min walk or a quick bike ride. But you may not have to venture far—the coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and boutiques clustered around our corner and up and down Franklin St. present plenty of great options.
The apartment is fully furnished, with good natural light, hardwood floors, and high ceilings. A long desk accommodates work spaces for two; a comfortable couch faces the flat screen TV (with DVD player and a small shelf of movies—sorry, no cable). If you are of the literary persuasion, there are quite a few books around; and a nice stereo (incl. turntable and small record collection) for your musical inclinations. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances, and the dining room table has wings that can extend for dinner guests.
In the bedroom there’s a comfy, full-size bed, a closet with dresser and hangers (all will be cleared for you), and light streaming through the window in the morning (which, of course, you can choose to delay with the blinds). An air conditioning unit keeps you cool on hot days and nights. The bathroom is spacious (for NYC) and clean, with a full bath/shower.
Enjoy evenings on the rooftop, bbq’ing on our little charcoal grill, looking across at Manhattan and feeling lucky to be exactly where you are.

Atención a los huéspedes
In all likelihood we will be out of town during your stay, but are very responsive to e-communication.
Sam and Viki are both writers living in Brooklyn, NY, and Sam is a teacher at New York University. Sam is American and Viki is half-German, half-Bulgarian. We usually spend our summers based in Viki's German homeland, Bavaria. We love travel, and are always looking for sanctuaries that allow us some independence and privacy, with space to read and write, and a terrace where we can drink a bottle of red wine.
As hosts for our Brooklyn apartment, we look for guests who will appreciate and respect our beloved home.
