Descripción

A fab bungalow- 90 sqm2 private roof terrace located in a traditional Roman residential area. Sleeps 5, easy parking, Roman Aqueduct in garden, pets welcome, near Metro 20 mins from centre. Great local amenities. Something for everyone.

“Casa Felice” is a detached 90 sqm2 bungalow adjacent to the ancient ' felice', a Roman aqueduct built in 1585. The property is located in Porta Furba- Quadraro, a traditional Roman residential area only 20 minutes from the centre of Rome.

Casa Felice is an ideal residence for those seeking a home which offers easy access to Rome’s tourist attractions, shops and eateries, in combination with a quiet, safe sub-urban homestead offering great amenities.

“Casa Felice” is a gated, detached property situated on a no-through road which leads directly to the park of 'Torre del Fiscale'. An archaeological park of the Appian Way, Torre del Fiscale is a sizeable green space scattered with ancient ruins including the 600 year old working aqueduct Felice. The park is perfect for strolling, jogging, cycling (cycle paths), picnics, ball games, dog walking, bird watching or just sitting and relaxing! A local museum, an organic restaurant, bicycle hire and a children’s playground are also available here.

Within short walking distance you will find a 3km stretch of local shops, including supermarkets, boutiques, chemists, hair salons, green grocers and markets. (This is a great place to shop, away from the tourist prices in the centre). From here you can access both Metro line 'A' and regular bus services, via which the many sights and delights of Rome are only a short trip away.

Locally there are facilities to play golf, swim, do yoga, horse ride, play tennis, visit Rome's film studios and go to gladiator school.

The estate agents laughed at us when we told them our needs (as did most Italians) An independent house, with no one above or below you. Near a lovely park big enough to go for a run with the dog. A metro station close by. Every type of shop within walking distance. A genuine Italian community i.e. non touristy. No problems with parking. Near some Roman history and a large, large terrace. The estate agent earned his commission as our house ticks all those boxes and many more!

How often can you say that you have dinner at home under the stars with a 600 year old working aqueduct in your back garden?

This charming bungalow can accommodate up to 5 guests comfortably. Pets are also welcome.

The front door leads to the modern, stylish and well equipped kitchen with large wooden breakfast bar and dining table (seating for 6). Behind the kitchen a short corridor leads to the bathroom and the master bedroom.

The bathroom is equipped with a shower, a bidet, a wash basin, a toilet, towel rails and large mirror.

A doorway to the rear of the sitting room leads to a study/guest room with fold-down tables which can double as a guest bedroom with a single bed. (note: no door!) The room has bookshelves and a selection of books to peruse, in English, Italian and German. You will also find a radio/CD player and a large and varied selection of CDs.

A door in the study leads to the second bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a large chest of drawers, bedside table and 2 double-doored wardrobes. The window looks out to the aqueduct at the back of the house.

The paved garden area around the full circumference of the property, boasts (for most of the year!) a colourful array of potted plants, citrus trees and shrubs. The backdrop to the house is the imposing aqueduct, which you can touch from the garden. Upstairs, sun lovers can enjoy sunbathing and al fresco dining on a 90sqm2 private roof terrace, equipped with a table, chairs and sink.

Guests are requested to smoke outside.

The owners wont be present during your stay. You will be met by our lovely guardian, who will be there for your check in and check out and on call should there be any problems.

This is a taste of the real Rome. The area is safe and has a village feel to it, as in the hot summer months people sit outside their homes chatting until late.

The metro is within walking distance, as are bus stops. There is easy parking outside the house.

I would definitly recommand stay at Sandra&Mitch's house. They were very helpful - not only professional but also kind - we felt that they want us to feel like special guests at their house. Gina, who welcomed us at the house was also doing everything to make our stay pleasant and trouble-free. The street and the area around is calm and quiet - and, all in all - is only 10 minutes to Metro Station and 20 minutes to Collosseum! Their house is very comfortable and well organised for tourists - we were there with group of five - and we didn't felt like house was to tight. Kitchen is fully equipped. And - last but not least - AIR CONDITIONING - especially during so hot summer in Rome - it is great convenience. The Casa Felice is really happy place to be.

Although we didn't meet Sandra, she was very helpfull through e-mail and phone. She updated us on the train, metro and other things. Very nice. The house itself was really large. Should be great with a group or children. For us, 2 persons, by far large enough. The roof terrace was a little bit dissapointing for us. Could be cosier. Street was nice and safe. At the end of the street, restaurant with great, great pizzas. One for two is enough. Larger neighbourhood not that much to see. Walking distance to metro about 10 minutes. Then another 10-15 minutes to city centre.

We did not meet Sandra in person, but she was extremely helpful before and during our stay. Gina, the woman who met us was very professional and kind. We booked the house on short notice without any problem. Our arrival coincided with a transit strike in Rome and Sandra let us know ahead of time and worked hard to help us arrange a ride from the station. Sandra and Mitch's house is absolutely wonderful. It feels like a home as opposed to a rental property. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and the pantry was stocked with spices, olive oil, etc. The house was also very clean. The roof terrace is wonderful for eating meals or just relaxing. The house is surrounded by beautiful potted plants. It feels like a peaceful oasis within the city. The neighborhood is not beautiful but it is safe and pleasant. It is residential with all that you need close by. There is a grocery store, a great coffee shop, restaurants that we didn't try but looked good, and the metro is a very easy walk. The metro is great- in two stops you reach a beautiful area- the appia antica park, and a few more into the city center. We were traveling with children and it was nice to have a comfortable house to come home to after a busy day in the city. I would recommend Sandra and Mitch's house to anyone traveling to Rome who wants to be in a nice house with easy access to the city center as well as other wonderful areas of Rome.
