This luxury villa is the best place you can stay in Pemuteran. Villa is comfortable and quiet. Staff is discreet, nice and very available. Everything is possible from the house : breakfast, lunch and dinner and you also can plan excursion to Menjangan Island and other places from the villa (free bikes are available). You can also simply rest at the villa and enjoy swimming pool, jacuzzi and massage.

Villa Semadhi was amazing! It offers everything you could want to make a perfect holiday. The property itself is beautiful and spacious, with a stunning pool, jacuzzi and garden leading straight onto the beach. Sitting on the sun chairs at the end of the garden under the shade of the trees, watching the local fishermen at sea with a cold beer in hand is a memory that will last a lifetime. The Villa has amazing, friendly staff who make the stay effortless. They have a lot of local knowledge and can arrange anything you might want to try. The snorkelling around the bay at Pemuteran on the Bio-Reef is incredible, only to be trumped by the reef wall on the trip to Menjangan Island, which is only a 15 minute drive away. It was like swimming in an aquarium. The area of Pemuteran is quiet with a very local feel, so much more relaxed than a lot of Bali these days. Go, you won't be disappointed, that's for certain. I would highly recommend Villa Semadhi with no hesitation at all.

The manager of the villa could not have more welcoming, even though our arrival was later than expected. The staff cooked wonderful breakfasts and dinners for us, and the food was fresh and delicious. The manager arranged all our transport for our daily activity. The villa was so beautiful and serene that we spent every afternoon on the property just relaxing, having a massage, swimming and playing Pétanque. While we spent most of our time outside, the inside of the house is also wonderful: great beds and bathrooms and so clean. It was an ideal vacation.

This place is beyond beautiful. We were overwhelmed by how stunning and magical it felt. And the staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating. Especially lovely is the salt water pool! I would stay here again in an instant.

We had a too short stay at this beautiful villa. It was our first experience renting a private villa only for my family. This was the best choice we could make, against big and crowded hotels. You are absolutely for your self and the stuff was quiet and unremarkable. If you like to use the service of the cook, they cook in a separated house, not placed on the villa ground, we liked this solution. We tried both, eating at an outside restaurant and have the meals in our villa. In our opinion the meals were a little bit to small to fill us up, but we didn't tried to ask for bigger portions and like this there is always some space for a nice dessert!:-) it always tasted well. We liked very much the "Villabook" for all the tips, trips and other stuff around the villa and the region. It's quiet hard just to relax at your pool bed after reading about all this possible activities. Arranging trips with the villa manager was no problem, even if he isn't there, you can phone him. The beach is not really nice, quiet unspectacular. It's black sand, no shells or corals and there is rubbish (NOT at the beach belonging to the villa!!). One day at a short beach walk we have seen 2 man who throwed back a half decomposed dog body to the ocean. So maybe be careful when you swim in the ocean! To my mind this is hard to change, because the villa is located between local properties. The rubbish is coming from the ocean or maybe even from the locals and as usual in countries like these, it's hard to reach a "western" level of awareness for the environmental and the protection. in Hindu religion every thing from nature (even dead dog body's) should given back to nature, to the (URL HIDDEN) this is Balinesestyle.... But it's still really nice to sit in the beach chairs in the evening and listen to the waves. To add another point we loved, this massage/pool house, like a big bed with roof, typical Balinese style, for the evening with Miskito net. It is absolutely relaxing there!!! My favorite place!!! You can even have a nice massage or other Beauty treatments for Balinese prices there. The pool was really nice too. It has the perfect size for a short swim in the morning or just relax during the day. The rooms at the villa were very nice too, much space and everything clean and furnished very well, with a nice art taste! Actually we spend more time outside the house in the garden and at the pool area or on trips etc and only went to bed in the house. Once we used the Kanu, which is really nice just to have them for a short trip along the Oceanside. The offered mountain bikes we used once for a trip to Permuteran to the turtle hatchery, 10 min away. The bikes...

Respuesta de Jane:
Thank you Dominica for your kind review. We do try to keep the direct beach area clean, and I think all resorts also do that. But indeed a lot of rubbish comes out of the ocean, especially in the rainy season. Also we support the schools in the area who create awareness for the environment to the younger children. There has been a "Go Green" school project where the children of the schools in the area had a big beach clean up. Yes I am afraid it is a cultural thing, hopefully the next generation will be more educated. Awareness about a clean environment is growing and we feel the situation is improving. Thank you for being our guest. Best regards, Jane

Excellent! A wonderful villa for a perfect vacation: big garden with infinity pool to relax, activity offerings for those who have energy, super service (including really very very good cook). We just saw one monkey in 6 days, looking for the offerings food at the temple and disappeared within 5 minutes. I'd book it immediately again. The kids (aged 4,9 and 10) loved it, too. We didn't do much outside the villa, just visit to the pearl factory and one snorkelling excursion 25' boat from the villa, if you want "low profile" activity definitely options to consider. Thanks to the staff! We enjoyed a great stay in a great place!

A wonderful house with spacious bedrooms and outstanding outdoor living spaces. Located directly on the sea, swimming and kayaking are possible from the lovely yard. It's a 15-20 minute walk along the beach to the Taman Sari resort for great snorkeling at the Bioreef. The staff were very attentive and the option to have meals at home, prepared by a wonderful cook, was an added plus. We highly recommend this house for a north Bali get- away.

My husband Bernard and I were both born in The Hague in the Netherlands and love travelling. In 1991 we started a trip around the world and fell in love with Bali. We returned several times but after having children mainly had Europe as holiday destination. When we went back to Bali with the family in 2008 we found the perfect place to build our future home in paradise.

Pemuteran and Sumberkima Hill, the village next to Pemuteran:
It was a bit of a shock for us to see how busy the south had become in 2008. A lot had changed in 15 years. We found the relaxed atmosphere here that we loved and the conditions that we think will keep this place special for the future. The scenery around the bay is magnificent and for snorkeling and diving it is probably the best spot in Bali. The people are special and the community is very much involved in protecting the area. It is a privilege to be there.

The Unique Benefits:
A friend that stayed with us at Villa Semadhi and mentioned that the villa is a destination by itself. He felt so relaxed and just liked being there, enjoying the scenery and listening to the waves, sitting by the sea. The garden is very large compared to most villas in Bali, giving it a sense of space. The style is traditional and there are many large trees, giving the impression that the house belongs there. Add to the experience a friendly staff that takes care of all your needs and a private boat to explore the area, go fishing and watch the sunset. Later in 2015 we opened our retreat in Sumberkima Hill, a very special place again.
