Well maintained 2 bedroom chalet at the popular Gower Holiday Village with swimming pool. (For full details of amenities on site, search the Internet for Gower Holiday Village.) Only 10 minutes drive from the stunning Rhossili Bay.
44 Gower Holiday Village,
We'll provide you with directions from Swansea.
Our bungalow is on the end directly opposite reception.
The bungalow has two bedrooms, one double and one twin.
Wi-fi: unfortunately the site no longer provides free wifi. It can be purchased.
Mobile phones: only Vodaphone has full coverage. Orange is patchy but is improving.
If you take the south road through Swansea you’ll pass a Sainsbury’s and a Tesco en route.
There is a general store at the entrance to Gower Holiday Village and the shop at the Texaco garage in Knelston is well-stocked. For fresh in-season fruit and veg may we recommend the Nicholaston farm shop (which you’ll also pass en route just past Penmaen). The farm shop also provides lunches, smoothies, ice-cream etc.
We recommend the fish and chip shop, ‘Chips Ahoy’ at the entrance to the Gower Holiday Village. Try the pub for food too; they've just employed a new chef. Also, the cafe/restaurant at Hillend campsite, Eddy’s, is great - nothing fancy but choice and quality always excellent. This makes a good half-way stop if you’re walking over Rhossili Down and back along the beach.
Hot water: there’s a switch for this just inside the lounge. Flick the switch about 20 mins before you need hot water for washing up or a bath. (The shower is electric.)
Electrical items: the bungalow has a microwave, cooker, fridge - sorry no freezer section, kettle, toaster, radio, steam iron, hoover, hair dryer and DVD player with a range of DVDs available for your use.
Cleaning fluids and toilet paper: provided.
We also provide soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, tea, coffee and sugar.
Your pets are welcome - they need a holiday too! Dog bowls are provided.
Your beds will be made up ready for your arrival.
Bedroom 1 has a double quilt and four pillows. Bedroom 2 has two single quilts and four pillows.
If you are making use of the sofa bed in the lounge, please provide sleeping bags. There are pillows in the high cupboards in bedroom 1. (NB. As we can't guarantee the condition of the sofa bed we don't advertise the property as a six-bedder. However, if there's six of you and two of you don't mind sleeping on sofas or giving the sofa bed a try, you're welcome to squeeze a couple of extra - short :-D - people in.)
Tea towels and cleaning cloths: provided.
Towels: these are provided but you may like to bring extra for swimming.
Cleaning: Please don’t worry about treading sand into the bungalow etc. It’s a beach holiday home and is designed for this! When you leave, please clean the bungalow ready for our next guests.
Maps and guides: these can be found on the coffee table. Feel free to make use of them. We can recommend the National Trust
walks you’ll find here. More tourist leaflets can be obtained from reception.
Wetsuits and body boards: there are a few wetsuits in the bungalow which you’re welcome to use: 1 x size 10; 2 x size 14; 1 x MS & 1 x ML. There is also one pink body board.
Children and child safety: if you’re taking young children, please scan for hazards at the beginning of your stay. Cleaning fluids and dehumidifier pots may need to be put out of reach, for example. Feel free to tie up blind cords too.
Other safety: a smoke detector is provided. There's no need for a carbon monoxide detector as we don't have gas.

Arrival and departure days:
Check-in: from 4:00 p.m.
Check-out: by 10:00 a.m.
If you'd like an earlier check-in, don't hesitate to ask; this is sometimes available depending upon how busy the bungalow is and whether or not the cleaning has been done.
Swimming pool (available during high season)
•Free. Don’t worry if you see others paying; the pool is open to non-residents for a small fee.
•Ask at reception/look out for a notice/visit the website for opening times.
•The pool is accessed by a locked door through reception and the games room. One of your keys fits the lock. Any problems, ask reception for help.
Children’s playground: to the rear of our bungalow next to the caravan park. The caravan area is also a relatively safe area for children’s bikes and scooters.
Games room: through reception.
Launderette: best used only for emergencies and rinsing things through as the washing machine only provides a cold wash and both it and the tumble dryer ‘eat’ 50p pieces. Top tip: we tend to hang wetsuits from the tree in front of the bungalow and there is a line and pegs under the sink if you’d like to rig up a line anywhere.
