Our house is a unique Victorian building with an interesting history. It was once a boarding school where the famous novelist, Evelyn Waugh, was a teacher. He wrote his first successful novel, Decline and Fall, which based on the property as a school, while he was here.
Over the years, it became abandoned and fell into a derelict state. After a year and a half of renovation work, my husband and I have finally recovered the rooms and hallways, keeping the original style in mind. You'll find a lot of early Victorian influence in the decor and furnishings around the property.
Ty Delfryn is set on a steep hill at the top of the village, looking out to the Irish Sea.
We're close to Gwrych Castle and there's a path from the house that takes you through a countryside walk where you can discover local caves and amazing views of the hills and the sea.
For the more adventurous walks, there's the Snowdonian mountain range, just an hour car journey away.
