Original stay on board an authentic clipper (1898) in the charming harbourtown Monnickendam. 15 minutes from Amsterdam by car or public transport. Combine a citytrip in this metropolitan city with a stay in the beautiful rural area of Waterland with its famous attractions like Volendam, Marken and Edam, just to mention a few!

El espacio
You sleep in the 'roef', the little house on the back of the ship, where the skipper and his family used to live back then.

Nowadays we use the ship to sail with groups of people for daytours on the IJsselmeer during our high season.

The 'roef' has been transformed into a nice and cosy place for you to stay. During your stay the ship won't sail and is docked in the harbour of Monnickendam.

Servicios y zonas comunes
You have private access to the 'roef'. It includes a living room with large windows overlooking the water. The kitchen area is also in here and has induction cooking, a small refrigerator, a nespresso coffeemachine and all the kitchen utilities you will need.

There is a toilet and shower. Towels are provided.

Also we have central heating on board.

Downstairs are two separate bedrooms. One bedroom with a double bed and the other one has two large single bunk beds.

And of course you can sit outside on the spacious deck of this 32 meter long ship.

Otros aspectos destacables
Please keep in mind that you are staying on a ship. The bedrooms are reached by a ladder, which is not advised for people who have difficulties walking. Also, watch out for your children in the vicinity of the water. We have lifevests available for them.

Monnickendam, Noord-Holland, Países Bajos

Monnickendam is a charming little harbourtown (IJsselmeer), which hasn't been discovered by many tourists yet. Take advantage of this well kept secret! Its location is just fantastic in the middle of Waterland with lots of opportunities for walking, cycling, swimming and watersports.

Make sure you visit Marken, Volendam and Edam and don't forget Zuiderwoude and Broek in Waterland.

In just 15 minutes you are in the centre of Amsterdam by bus or car.

Monnickendam has some very nice restaurants and pubs close by. The bakery, butcher and delicacy shop are also around the corner.

Supermarket is a five minute walk.

I studied Hotelmanagement, now I run my own business with my husband. We sail the IJsselmeer with groups of people during season. Off season , when we don't sail, we now have our unique B&B (boat &bed ;-)). I love to travel and spend time with my family, quality time! Meet new people, see beautiful places; explore nature, eat different foods etc. I wish for you the same, while you stay in our cosy place!
