Crown Lodge is an 18th Century stone lodge built in 1736. Originally a pub now converted into an elegant and spacious country residence set in private gardens on a quiet unadopted lane. There's ample parking, an Inglenook fireplace, flagstone floors, 2 log burners, cosy rugs, substantial common areas. Set in the charming village of Ryhall near the Roman market town of Stamford, the house is surrounded by fruit trees, geese, ducks, sheep and friendly locals. We welcome you to our Lodge.

El espacio
The house is ideally designed to suit 6 adults in the 3 double bedrooms, with space for 3 children in the forth bedroom (1 bunk and one single). The master bedroom has an en-suite with a shower and there is a separate bathroom with bath/shower next to the children's room. There is a 'snug' with a 2 seater sofa which is designed to be convenient for a children's play/DVD area or as otherwise desired.

As an 18th Century lodge, there are some 'rustic' elements to the heating systems: The 2 log burners are both fully functioning and powerful sources of heat, and logs are supplied. Otherwise, the property is centrally heated by oil (not a combi boiler) and hot water is also supplied by an immersion heater (meaning it's worth a little planning when everyone wants a shower).

The garden is private and surrounded by fruit trees. It gets the sun all day long because it is terrassed.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: There is a ratchet on the nightly costs which changes the rate if more than 6 adults are staying - so please only input the number of ADULTS staying as it is not our intention to change additional costs for children under 16yrs.

¿Dónde me voy a quedar?

Ryhall, Inglaterra, Reino Unido

Ryhall has 2 excellent pubs, catering for the more formal gastro tastes (the Wicked Witch) and for the more relaxed (and dog friendly) tradtional pub style food including excellent pizzas (The Green Dragon). There is a village shop selling the delicious Hambledon Bakery pastries and Grasmere meat products, (sausages, bacon). A local farmer supplies fresh eggs directly to his own outlet just outside of the village en route to Stamford. It is a wonderful area to explore and there are well maintained footpaths where you can walk/run/cycle for miles at your leisure.

Stamford itself is a historic market town, consisting of mostly 17th and 18th century stone buildings, but the history of the town goes back to before Roman times. There is a large quantity of excellent pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and boutique shopping alleyways amongst the main pedestrianised shopping areas.

There are fantastic local amenities within local driving distance (more details available in the Crown Lodge manual):
- Burghley House and Estate (3 miles);
- Rutland Water (sailing, aquapark, Hambledon Hall (8-12 miles);
- Tallington Lakes (waterskiing, wakeboarding, outdoor swimming - 5.6 miles);
- Tolethorpe Manor outdoor Shakespearean theatre (2 miles);
- Woolthorpe Manor (Issac Newton's home - 13 miles);
-Horse riding (everywhere);
-Wakerley Woods mountain biking trails (12.4 miles);
- Well maintained cross-country walking routes (everywhere);
- Belton House (including adventure playground - 23.6 miles);
- Grimsthrope Castle (9.6 miles)

Crown Lodge was my home for 7 years before I moved onwards. I Personally restored the property (with some technical expertise!) to a period country home suitable for large families and guests.
