Información sobre este anuncio

Looking for something a bit more modern, young but still Moroccan? "Musk" room might be the right place for you then!

El alojamiento

"Musk" was inspired by WASSILY KANDINSKY painting "Farbstudie Quadrate", 1913. It is a mixture of textures, styles and cultures. Inspired by a great Russian artist, decorated in "tadelakt" (traditional Moroccan lime-based plaster), Berber carpet, Moroccan silk blanket and curtains from the weaving workshop just around the corner. It is furnished with traditional Moroccan mosaic table, metal and glass wardrobe and director's chairs from 1982 gives you a modern and young approach to a Moroccan style.

Servicios y zonas comunes

It is great for people who enjoy their privacy but if you want to gather with your fellow travellers - shared dining area, lounge and terrace are perfect for that. What could be better than sitting cosily next to the fireplace, sharing a cuppa and your travelling stories?

Atención a los huéspedes

You will be greeted by me, the owner of the house or house manager Fatimzahra. We will be there to answer all your questions, recommend you placed to visit, restaurants to eat and of course, tell you some general information about the city and culture.

Otros aspectos destacables

The house is very easy to find. If you are at Bab Doukala (one of the entrances to medina) and facing the inside of medina , turn left into the first street (Rue Chbanate) and follow the street for about 500 meters until you see a wonderful shop "Mashi Mushkili" on your left, Dar Sabon is right in front of it.

Dar Sabon is a brand new house, the owner put all the heart into decorating it and making it as homely as possible. It would be very appreciated if guests would respect the house and their fellow neighbors. Basically - feel like at home but don't forget that you are a guest and treat the others the way you want to be treated.

Excellent riyad in the medina of Essaouira. Our room was clean, as described, and every day the bed was remade and bathroom swept. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was hot. We had a huge king sized bed that was very comfortable and a spacious room with a place to put our clothes and laundry. Breakfast included fresh orange juice and a variety of breads with jams and almond butter, pancakes, fruit, some dates and anise cookies with coffee and mint tea. Fatimzahra was a lovely host; she always prepared everything for us quickly and even gave us a breakfast when we were late one morning. She also took care of our laundry and folded it nicely for 50 MAD per load. The wifi was very strong, even in our bedroom on the second floor, and the common spaces were clean and comfortable with music, games, and an occasional henna artist. Our street was quiet and about a 3 minute walk to the Main Street of the medina. The host provides a map with restaurant suggestions and a guidebook to look up activities (we tried surfing). The only negative was a loud knocking that would sound every morning from about 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. I'm not sure if there was construction nearby or it was the water heater but it would prevent us from sleeping in. Overall we had a five star experience and would highly recommend this place to any guest considering staying here.

Agne and Fathimzara were so nice and helpful. We had the most amazing and relaxing stay in Essaouira in the Riad Dar Sabone. Agne gave us really nice tips what to see..where to eat and we had a nice chat with her on the terrace. In total we felt like home in the Riad and we had time to relax, read a book on the rooftop in the sun, enjoyed the amazing breakfast. We definitely come back and stay longer in Essaouira. All the best to you Agne and hope to see you again! Safe travel!

The greatest location in Essaouira by far! Easy to find, really great furnished and super clean. Agne and her stuff were super helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere of the rooms feel like home. If you need any information they have prepared a great folder with tips and info about everything you need and even more. The breakfast is fresh, diverse and rich. The roofttop is perfect to relax. All in all a top notch airbnb! Thanks for having us and we'll hope to come back :)

I discovered Morocco 12 years ago, while travelling around Europe. It wasn't exactly the love from the first sight. In fact, it took me a good week of traveling from city to city from village to village in order to warm up towards this mad land. Keep in mind that 12 years ago it was not as popular tourist destination as it is now. Every day disappointed, harassed, pointed at and even tried to be bought and traded for camels and a piece of land (my friend was quite tempted to accept the offer), I had enough. Just wanted to leave and never come back. Essaouira was the last try... I am not exactly sure what happened then but from the moment I put my backpack on Essaouira's land my life changed. It was the same country I disliked so much but the wind in my ears, the clear blue sky, the horizon of the ocean, the smell of fish, wood and salt left a huge mark in my heart. Essaouira became my dream. Why? The only answer I can think of is - the freedom. The freedom to be who you are, to do what you want, to feel the wind in your hair, to hear the seagulls, to wake up and see a clear blue sky, to have the sunshine every day and most importantly - to share the love for this beautiful country with the others, just as the locals share it with me. What can be the better way to do that than have a little bed&breakfast?
Sadly, my Moroccan chapter is over for some time. I decided to take a break and to travel The World for a year or two. Fortunately a new chapter for Fatimzahra just started. Let me tell you about her. I met this young woman who, to be honest, was very shy and quiet but had this obvious power in her eyes. She started working for me. As the time passed she has shined more and more. Her managing skills, her intelligence, and her European work ethic started to show. She became my biggest helper and teacher of Moroccan culture and how to survive in this men’s world. I contributed my bit too. I signed her for English classes, got a laptop and started teaching her. I had never met anyone else being so hungry for knowledge, so quick to learn. She is wonderful! And I believe that developing and teaching her is even a bigger achievement than Dar Sabon itself. So yes, now she is in charge of Dar Sabon and I help her with the emails. Yes, her English is not great. But she tries. She speaks Classic Arabic, Moroccan Arabic, Berber, French and she can manage in English. Impressive, huh? How many languages do we speak?
I could not be happier that Dar Sabon remained as a house where everyone is more than welcome, where the stories can be shared, where questions can be answered. Essaouira was my home. I am glad Dar Sabon is still yours.
